Stripes's Den

Three prides, united by one king.
Years ago, the Coast pride was living happily on the beach. They worked together and had plentiful territory. However, after a disaster the pride was forced to leave their home. They had few options. The nearby mountains were cold and it would be hard to raise a pride there, but it was safe. The jungle was warm and inviting but dangerous, with plenty of ways for lionesses to die.
The pride was split, half decided to go to the mountains, and half to the jungle. After a while, the Jungle pride, being closer, decided to send a small group of lionesses to see if the animals had returned to the Coast pride's old territory. To their delight, the land was flourishing again. A small amount of lionesses chose to return to their ancestral home on the coast.
Generations later, the Mountain pride and the Jungle pride were united again by King Stripes. The lionesses slowly started to integrate with their pride and learned to rely on each other. When Stripes came to find the Coast pride, the pride had been almost entirely wiped out. Stripes decided to claim the territory and rebuild the pride, starting with two lionesses and two cubs to rebuild the pride.
To differentiate the prides they decided to all choose different naming systems. The Coast pride was the first to change. All new cubs and lionesses accepted into the pride would have names based on flowers, and a cub's name would have to start with the same letter as its mother.
The Mountain pride names their lions with two part names, however a lion will have one name from their mother and the second name from one of her ancestors.
The Jungle pride names lions based on their appearance, usually related to jungle items, plants, or animals.
