~Beyond the Blaze~
You stand on the edge of a cliff and peer over, only to find burnt trees skinny like twigs, and ashes that cover everything like death. No birds call, no animals wander to this forsaken place.
Leaping down you wince as once green leaves crackle under your paws, staining them black. Looking around, you find a small stone shrine in the shape of a sitting frog, its gaping mouth open wide. Brushing aside some dust, you strain to make out the tiny script, but it is unreadable. Placing your paw on the symbol in the middle, the engravings on the shrine start to glow…..
You wake up, your head pounding. Glancing around, the forest is different. The old one was dead and black, but this one is lush and green. Suddenly, of flash of red among the flora…
A male approaches you then says calmly,
“My name is True, and welcome to the Sacred Lands. We’ve recently had a change of rulership, but hopefully the stars will guide me as well as they have my predecessor.”
He seems to flicker every now and then, like reminisces of the past… or the future?
