Lore of the Pride

When you look into the night sky and you find constellations, what do you think of? Some of you might envision the picture the constellation is trying to form, others might remember the stories and legends associated with them - though I would reckon that most of you do not think of these constellations as actual creatures.

I assure you, they indeed are. Ursa Major and Ursa Minor are bears, Lepus is a wolf, Leo is a lion, there are even some creatures in the skies that you don't know about yet - and when you look into the night skies at the constellations, I can assure you, my dear, that they are staring back at you.

Sometimes these celestial beings come to Earth. Usually these beings have a purpose for doing so. For example, Urse Major will come down to aid the magic users of the world.

Leo is a different case. The lion celestial watched the lions from a far, watching over them and providing protection when he could. After a while though... he grew a bit envious of them. He wanted to LIVE like they did. He wanted to come down to earth with a physical form and live a life. He longed for it. He longed for it. And as his envy grew, he didn't grow angry - he could never be angry at such lovelty creatures like the earthly lions - but he grew sad. Incredibly sad.

Tefnut soon discovered Leo's sadness and asked him about it, learning about his envy. The gracious goddess had mercy on him and presented a deal.

"I will allow you the opportunity to have a physical form with a full life the length of three natural lives." She told him. "You will experience the goodness and badness of a living earthly lion. But at the end of that lifetime, your physical form will die, and you will return to the skies as a cub."

Without hesitation, Leo agreed, and Tefnut sent him down as a young adult lion. He was open to those he has met that he was not from this world, but never opened up and told anyone who he truly was. He chose the name Apollo the Great, naming himself after a deity of the sun as a way to hide his tracks. However, I think deep down many of his pride members always knew he was the Leo of the skies.
