He is a lion with the cunning of a hyena.

You've been exploring for hours. You're paws ache and your lungs burn from extertion. You want to go home in peace but the scent of hyenas in the area plays with your nose telling you that the walk home won't be easy. You aren't scared. You've faced hyenas before, but the scent is different this time. Someone.. or something.. is with this pack. You stand in the middle of a clearing, trees and either side of you and open road in front of you.
"Oh, lookie here, boys." A feminine voice spoke from the trees. Telling from the accent, it was definitely a hyena. You feel the fur on your back raise in irritation and anticipation. You watch as hyenas step from the trees, their muscles highlighted by their heavy coats. "Well, hello there." She flashes a toothy grin in your direction.
"Let me eat them, Amara." The large male growled from beside the matriarch.
"Oh no no, Kafari. Let Ekon take this one.." The female hyena let out a loud laugh, her whooping echoed throughout the area and soon all the other joined in. You let out a growl in your throat and prepare for a fight.
That's when you see him. A lithe lion with the coat of a spotted hyena. The male's teeth were large and sharpened, his icy eyes trained on you alone. There was something.. strange about him. Primal. Almost like he didn't know what he was..
Before you had much more time to pick him apart, he lunges!
