Yaro Winda's Den

The Winda Plains, level and vast, allow the pride's hunters and patrols to spot anything that approaches long before it reaches their cave. Sometimes prey even wander into their midst, not seeing the lions camouflaged in the tall grass under the shade of the few trees which dot the landscape. It's a plentiful land, but all places have their caveats. The prey come and go with the seasonal grasses - when the shoots sprout up in the rainy season, a veritable feast of animals flocks to the plains. As it dries up, with scars of dusty, bare ground where golden stalks once stood, the herds move on. The pride is forced to wander further afield during the dry season, and feed mainly on carrion until the rains return.
