Pride Lore!
The Sakura Pride are known throughout the lands of Lioden for their unique and vibrant colors that reflect the beauty of soft blooms in the spring. Their kingdom is nestled within the Blossom Plains, a wide stretch of gentle hills and lush meadows, where wildflowers in every shade of pink and purple sway in the warm breeze. At night, the sky above them lights up in shades of blush and lavender, making their home feel like a living painting.
They Are led by Sakura Hato. Nobody knows when he appeared; he's been there for thousands of years. He is a mystery, a novelty to some. Most lions come to pray to him for goodluck. He’s had many queens in the past but his current one is Queen Golden Sunrise. She is chosen not by love but by a prophecy that comes every 14 years. Then a new Queen will be chosen for the pride.
The Sakura Pride is a pride built on respect and inclusivity. They take in lost lions, travelers, and those seeking sanctuary, offering them a new home where they can find their strength and sense of purpose. Cubs born into the pride are always given the space to grow into who they truly are, whether they embrace the gentle traditions of their pride or yearn for something different. The pride is known for its diverse and inclusive culture, where each lion is celebrated for their individuality.
The Petal Ceremony: Each year, the pride holds a grand festival called the Petal Ceremony, where every lion is given a special flower from the Blossom Plains. These flowers are sacred and believed to carry the blessings of the spirits of the land. They are used to mark important milestones, such as the birth of cubs or the death of a member
Blessings of the Blossom: When a new cub is born into the pride, their first step is to be taken in the Blossom Field, where their future is symbolized by the first flower they touch. This flower is believed to predict the cub's future role within the pride—whether they will be a gentle healer, a fierce protector, or a wise advisor.
At the end of every season, the Sakura Pride gather for the Sunset Gathering, a solemn and peaceful ritual held just before dusk. During this ceremony, the pride comes together on a large, flat hill overlooking the Blossom Plains, where the sky transforms into hues of pink, gold, and lavender as the sun begins to set. Each member of the pride is invited to share their thoughts, reflections, and dreams for the coming season.
