Adderstar woke up, then jumped when he saw his dead mate Littlebreeze standing in front of him.
"Littlebreeze! W-what? What am I doing here?! My clan is fighting against them! The- The vampires. They're insane. DuneClan will not be taken over!"
"You're losing your last life Adderstar, it's too late."
"DuneClan will NOT be lost! Surely the others will figure out someout to exile the vampires... Surely one of them..."
"DuneClan is gone, Adderstar. Scattered. That's what you get when you don't appoint a new deputy. Afanas will take care of them. Though not even we can tell if it will be good or bad that he's come here."

"Adderstar! Wake up, we can't let him take over!" The old medicine cat was panicking. Was this his last life? Why didn't she know?
"Do something, Cheetahspirit!"
Cheetahspirit felt Adderstar's chest rise and fall once more, and then it stopped.
"I- I'm so sorry Cloudjumper. He's gone."
"NO! StarClan, help us all!"
They heard footsteps behind them.
"Your 'StarClan' is not with you anymore now, are they?"
"No, please, StarClan, don't let this be true..."

It was true.

StarClan had doomed them all.



Afanas liked being in charge for once.
It was quite funny to see everyone scamble about doing his orders and calling him 'Baron' out of fear that a big lion like him could kill them in one clean swipe.
Yeah, allright, maybe he could.
But really? His heart wasn't into it.
This piece of territory is now mostly owned by the vampires, but there are some DuneClan cats that did not flee in the battle. Afanas admired them. But he also knew that they also were afraid of getting killed.
He didn't have the best reputation around here.
They were quite like a normal pride around here. The females would hunt, the submales would be sent on patrols so they wouldn't have a chance to challenge the leader for their leadership. One wouldn't realize that the most of them were vampires. You would, however, if you looked at their 'Warrior Code' wich was nothing like the real Code.

1. The only thing you shall eat from another prides' lion is their meat. White lion pelts will be removed and cut into piecies for the queens to nest in.
2. Any cub that doesn't find another pride within two years, shall be abandoned or killed.
3. Remember the bigger lion is always in charge. Trespassers of lions smaller then yourself should be killed on the spot.

Not only had the code become much shorter, but also much more violent, comepletely ignoring the lions shall not be killed and never neglect a cub in need rule.
But it worked, and Afanas didn't expect anyone to challenge him for his leadership anytime soon.
