Prologue: Many of the lionesses question Gakek, the King, in the way he rules. Though kind to give them homes, he pays no attention to them afterwards; his favorites are the exception. There is quiet gossip around the pride on what is to come. Many hear that there is one lioness who plans to overthrow him.

Arc 1: Spooky, a lioness who was brought in by the King at a young age, has never liked Kings and this one is no different. She plans to overthrow him, wanting to make her line the royal line. Getting close to the King and being the royal advisor, she keeps tabs on all that he does.

Arc 2: Spooky goes to a neighboring kingdom, and seeks out a powerful king named Starscream, for his...services; she makes sure everything is set into place.

Arc 3: With Spooky's son born, she sets to motion in training him to be the next in line in the shadows. With the help of the other lionesses who are fed up with the King, they make sure Shootingstar is a star that'll burn bright.

Arc 4: After several years of planning and training, Spooky determines that Shootingstar is ready so she kills Gakek in cold blood. The hostile take over begins.
