Finally the day came, however, when King Wolf was too going to leave this land. He picked Prince Sky of Storms as his heir, and Prince Sky picked his first queen, Queen Leopard. Leopard's eldest brother was beta to King Wolf, and vowed his loyalty to his sister and her newest king. King Wolf passes peacefully, and young Prince Sky took to the throne. As the years passed Sky became a loved king. His lionesses grew old with him and he prepared for the next generation. Sky did not pick an heir before his untimely death. He was struck down by Cold Snarl in his sleep, though no one could pin point her for sure. She was quick to convince the pride that Ancient Thunder could be taught to lead, and in private, she molded him into a killer. North Wind and Snowy Owl grew distrustful of their kin and Thunder. Fatale became the next queen, and Leopard was left alone to tend to her dying mother and brother. Upon the death of Empress North Wind, Thunder was left with an unbalanced pride. Cold Snarl was still giving commands in the shadows, but Thunder was unwilling to listen to her orders any longer. The young king was growing unsure of his adoptive mother, instead taking Leopard as the next Empress instead. His oldest females were coming to the end of their times, and with the passing of Snowy Owl and Leopard, Cold Snarl once again grew into power, leading her King down an even darker path than before. She insisted he bore her a son, though he refused, confiding into his other females instead. Thunder even began to distrust his Beta, as he and Little Claws grew even closer. Cold Snarl plotted, and conceived a son with another male. The Prince was presented to the King as his son, and in his joy and newfound hope, he named the Prince after Empress North, and deemed him worthy to be king after him. Snarl planned to mold her youngest son into a killer, a worthy fiend that would take on anyone and everyone. But the cub was innocent to her ways, and instead took to Queen Rain Cloud and the kinder lionesses. The divide within the pride became even deeper, pushing the Sawa even closer to the battle to come. As the Prince aged, he found acceptance with his sister, Little Claws, and Beta Sacrifice as well. The two lions raised him while King Thunder spiraled out of control. Finally, Cold Snarl attempted on his life in the night, only to be caught and apprehended by North-Heart himself. He beat her easily, though not before she admitted she had killed King Sky, and that the Prince was not Thunder's son. The pride was split in two, as some such as Blue Fawn and Puddle of Mud joined Cold Snarl's side. Lion against lion, though the King and Prince secured victory when Little Claws and the Beta joined their cause and struck down Cold Snarl. The uprising lionesses were chased away or killed, and King Thunder was gravely injured. His wound festered, and after days of agony, he gathered the strength to announce that North-Heart was indeed the right heir. He died, leaving North-Heart king of the Sawa. North-Heart saw to reconstructing the pride, naming Little Claws and Rain Cloud his noble and wise empresses, and renamed Sacrifice as a Deputy, rather than Beta. The noble male was young but had fine mentors, and was devoted to picking up the broken pieces of his pride. North grew blind, however, as mutiny still raged under the surface of his pride. Some of the lionesses were placid...for now. However, the younger generation ran rowdy and wild. A handsome young male, Setting Moon, was picked as the next king. He was arrogant, hyper, and quickly set to naming his harem of future queens. The older lionesses tried to tame the young male, but they were not successful. Setting Moon's sister, Scarlet Dove, was a quiet and cold female. The duo showed promise as rulers, if they could learn some humility first.
