As you enter an arid, cloudless world, you are met by a bulky lioness with a scruffy pelt to match the sunbleached environment around you. You notice, as she approaches, that the muscles under her skin move strangely, and there is something uncanny about her eyes.
“Howdy,” she starts in a strange, rough accent. She extends a paw– a strange gesture. “Welcome to the Dead Harbor farmland. My name is Wes.”

You scratch at the coarse, salty earth before you. "Farmland?" you question.

"Oh yes," Wes says with a toothy smile. Their teeth look weird too, like they don't fit in their mouth. "A man like me knows how to draw water out from its hiding place." She raises her eyes to the pure blue sky then down again at the ground, which she gazes at like it's her beloved child or something.

You look beyond Wes and spot an organized grid of shrublike plants, which look out of place.
"Why, though?" you ask. "You're not eating them, are you?"

"Ahh, I wish," sighs Wes, surveying her work, doe-eyed. "I was a lifelong vegetarian when I was human, but it upsets my stomach something fierce now. Gardening is still my creative outlet, though, it helps keep my mind off of, um, this," she says, looking down at her paws. "The crops attract prey to our pride. That's why the girls decided to keep me." Wes squeezes her eyes shut. "I'm still trying to get used to the idea of eating meat, but at least I don't need to kill them myself..."

"What do you mean, human?" you ask.

"Oh!" Wes perks up. "Yeah, I was born a human, but not too long ago, I was taken by aliens and turned into a lion!"

"Oh." you reply.

"Yeah! Some weird experiment! Who knew!"

"Okay..." you say. This guy is weird. Better make your time here quick. You go along with them as they trail on about their experiences as a human and how it's so different from being a lion.
