Pride History

The first king to claim this land was Alaster.
He was a neutral lion, who wish no evil on anyone but wasn't an angel either. Alaster was sterile, so the king took in orphan cubs and allowed his lionesses to seek other kings when they wanted cubs of their own.

Alaster ended up making a fatal mistake when
he took in a male cinnabar cub. The cub at the time seemed innocent, but don't all cubs? Alaster named the cub Sassafras. Alaster started to realize as the cub got older he was a problem child, but Alaster never saw his faith coming.
Alaster vowed that when it was time that his
faithful adopted son Eruption would carry on the crown. Eruption was a good lion and over 4 years older then Sassafras. As Sassafras matured he wasn't happy about being third in line, so he secretly plotted. When it was time he sprung his trap. Which was to annihilate Eruption and made it look like an accident. Even though Eruption was gone and Sassafras was one step closer to ruling the kindom it wasn't good enough.
When Alaster was in mourning over his beloved
Eruption, Sassafras murdered Alaster in cold blood for the hole pride to see. Sassafras took the crown for himself and anyone that dared to go against him was dealt with inhumanely. Sassafras built his new kingdom in his image. Most of Alaster's former pride where either killed, ran off, or banished to the outskirts of the territory because they didn't fit into Sassafras' standards. Those remaining lions that didn't conform to the new uprising, but still remained, stuck together forming a small band of misfits. The misfits had no leader in the group. They knew better to because they still had to answer to the cruel king and do as he demands if they wish to stay on his territory.
