The Pride

Living on the edge of the Ruwenzori Mountains the lions of this pride are looked upon as something strange… Over time their appearance, as well as their characteristics, have altered to adapt to their unusual existence. Predominantly darker than their cousins out of the sun-touched plains, this pride favour the harsher environment that the mountains offer. Much like their surroundings the lions here are beautiful but ruthless and sometimes cold.

As a general rule the pride follows a very basic model in terms of hierarchy... The resident male might hold the title of king but he does not set the terms for how the lionesses organise themselves. The lioness(es) he favours might wear the title of queen but if such a female is also a dominant force within the pride this is down to coincidence only... The lionesses have their own hierarchy that is most often built around hunting prowess and strength. On a rare occasion a lioness might work her way up the ranks by other means but this is by no means the norm.

General info

Hi~ I kinda stumbled across this site a couple of years ago & I've been here ever since. This was my second account - not my first - but I don't really have a 'main' account that I use more than the other. I jump from one to the other pretty much all day. On here I house all my black based lions (mostly countershaded types!) - on my other account it's predominantly cream bases with the odd red base thrown in. :D
