Right now we have the option of one submale patrolling 1-10 squares. This can be the submale going on 10/10 squares, or 1/10, or anything in between.

It seems to be like an unfinished coding, like you were going to do it anyway.

My suggestion is you allow more than one submale out on patrol at a time, with 10 slots to share between them.

Example:
SUB1 is patrolling 4/10 squares!
SUB2 is patrolling 6/10 squares!
Come back in 15 minutes to see what they find.

and they are both out patrolling at the same time. This gives use to the extra submales, and the extra submale slots in our den that nobody has more than one of because we can only use one submale at a time anyway. There can be as many submales out as submale slots allowed in one den (I think that is 4? But I'm not sure) as long as they share the 10 squares between them.

It really seems like this was meant to be how patrolling went, but the coding wasn't finished or something? I dunno. Because you CAN send a sub out on less than 10 squares, but why would you? Unless you could send another sub out on the rest of the squares.

Very very true, I always wondered that. I think the reason they might not have implemented it yet is perhaps they haven't figured out a way to split stats or they are just re-working the patrolling like they recently did with the Lioness' hunting system since the Patrol map is lacking new art, same ol' ugly squares. And honestly, who would want to send their Submale to patrol less than the squares he is allotted?

You have my vote.

I can send my male out on 1 square and receive just the same amount of stats he would if I sent him on 10. So the amount of squares seems to not matter. So why not split it up?

I actually think this idea is good.... HOWEVER!
I do think that some kind of limit must be put.
If you send one submale on all 10 squares, they will gain nice stats and find something alright, the same way like now.
However, the success and stats rate will be split and divided if you send more than one submale, thus splitting the squares.

Why is it fair?

Because if he patrols not as long and not as much, it means that he will see less, experience less, and will search less ground for items and carcasses, thus I dont think it would be fair to let him gain as much stats and find items in the same chance as if he would patrol all 10 squares.

The rate of gaining stats and the chance of finding items depends on how many squares each submale is patrolling.

And no, please dont come to me with 'but if we can have more than one slot, then they should have the same chance etc etc etc'...
BECAUSE
No one forced you to have more than one slot, thus it was your choice. People can be fine with one submale. If you wanted more, well you had the right to have more, but dont expect that both can be trained the same way.
