THIS IS A PRIVATE RP BETWEEN BAMON & JEDI.

Fenrir/Hermione

"I can't believe I have a grandmother I never knew about."

Hermione muttered as she finished packing the picnic she was bringing to said grandmother. She didn't know why her parents had never mentioned her grandmother from her mother's side but she was determined to find out. Apparently her parents even kept in touch with her grandmother including giving her details of Hermione's life.

She'd only found out by accident. Hermione had been upstairs in her mother's wardrobe, looking for a nice coat to wear as the three of them would be dining out for the evening. However whilst looking for a coat she'd come across a strange series of shelves in the back of the wardrobe she'd never noticed before. On top of the shelves were thick, wooden boxes and inside of them were photos, letters, and all sorts of small, miscellaneous items from her childhood. It didn't take long to read the letters nor realise they had only really started the day she was born.

Apparently her birth hadn't been a normal one. Infact not only had she been born in the garden - she'd refused to come out anywhere inside apparently - but magical sparks had flown from her strands of brown hair when she'd arrived. These sparks had automatically healed both mother and baby. After reading the letters Hermione realised her parents had known about the supernatural long before she'd been born. They'd tried to ignore it of course but when she'd been born they had been forced to accept it. Unfortunately in the letters nothing was ever told flat out about how her parents knew about the supernatural or what her grandmother had to do with it.

So, Hermione was going to visit her grandmother. In the last letter it had said she was ill, and with an address in hand Hermione had decided she'd go to visit her to heal her as well as get the answers she felt she deserved.

Unfortunately her grandmother lived up in Berkshire, in the wild moors beyond the thick forests where it was extremely hard for anyone to apparate. Infact it was apparently a part of Berkshire, a national park or something of some kind, that was protected against such transporation magic.

So Hermione apparated just outside of the area and then proceeded through the forest on foot. After all it was a clear path and with her wand hidden in her sleeve Hermione was sure she'd be safe.

What could go wrong?

Fenrir Greyback ran through the forests of his pack grounds, his bounds fluid as a canine's, even within his human form. These lands were his to rule, and the pack that resided within it was his to protect.

And that meant every member.

As he drew closer to the trail that wound through his territory, his strides slowed, and a strange scent assaulted his senses. His ears could pick up the gentle sound of footsteps as he took in the scent of this unknown entity.

Female. Young. Magical. Carrying some sort of food.

What was anyone doing wag out here, let alone a magical being that undoubtedly had better things to do with a trek through the woods. He would have to report this to the elders. He may be pack leader, but he knew far better than to reject the wisdom of the older members of the pack.

It was just as he was about to leave the girl to hr wandering that a small collection of dry twigs snapped underfoot. Oops. He froze at the sound, deafening in the relative silence of the forest, and slowly turned his gaze to watch the girl through the foliage of the forest around him.

Would she notice him?

Hermione shivered in the cold, hugging her favourite cloak tight to her body. Even after Ron had mucked up and turned the normal black cloak into a bold red colour it was still her favourite due to the fact it was fleece lined on the inside making it that just bit extra warm. Of course she could have cast a warming charm but there was nothing like making yourself warm the normal Muggle way.

Hermione froze the second she heard the snap of some twigs. She spun around to face the direction she thought the sound had come from but she saw nothing but trees. Of course this wasn't surprising considering how thick, and thus dark, this forest was. Upon hearing the sound of birds she frowned, glancing up at the canopy before allowing herself to relax after catching sight of a bird relaxing in a nest. Surely if there was something dangerous in the woods the bird would have taken flight?

Putting the odd spook behind her, Hermione turned back down the path and resumed her walk towards her grandmother's house.

She wasn't far from her grandmother's house when a beautiful clearing filled with colourful flowers caught her eye.

"Surely a bouquet of these flowers would make grandmother feel even better when she sees me?"

She spoke aloud. Of course her grandmother wasn't expecting her, she didn't even know Hermione knew about her yet, but Hermione knew she'd probably have to butter her grandmother up a fair bit to find out her grandmother's sordid family secret. There just had to be a reason why she was shunned from the family! Hermione knew she'd never feel right again until she found out.

Decision made, Hermione strayed from the path and knelt amongst the flowers to pick some.

Fenrir had continued following the girl, though not entirely on purpose. She had been headed the same way he way, and he refused to believe that as a coincidence.

As they approached a clearing he remembered had several types of wildflowers, he was relieved to find that she had stopped, judging by how her scent shifted within the air around him. Good, that meant he could go on ahead.

Taking the long was around the clearing, he was off once more, bounding through the forest until he arrived at his destination. And old cabin in the thick of the forest.

Rising up to his full height, he swiftly approached, knocking on the door once before entering without an answer.

"Elder Granger? It's Fenrir, I've come to warn you. I think someone is coming, here. A young witch."

"I wonder who it could be."

Elder Granger replied, sitting in her old rocking chair as she paused in knitting a pastel blue onesie for a newborn baby in the Pack.

Hermione meanwhile had finished picking flowers for the Grandmother she'd never known. Excitement filling her belly she continued on down the path to her Grandmother's house. As expected, which she had no doubts about due to her own research, the house was exactly where it was supposed to be.

It was an absolutely picture-perfect cottage that made Hermione just want to stay forever. There was beautiful stone work, ivy and roses creeping up the walls, and a cute thatched roof as well. Flower boxes were on the window sill filled with flowers, and she was pretty sure she smelt a fresh apple crumble just out of the oven through one of the open windows. Yes, it looked like the perfect Grandmother's house with the possibility of the perfect Grandmother inside.

However if that were true why were her parents keeping this woman a dirty secret?

Summoning her courage she took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

Elder Granger, or Iva, glanced up at her door upon hearing the knock. With a quick glance to Fenrir within her home she slowly stood up, placing her sewing back onto her comfy armchair. It didn't take long to reach her front door. What, or whom, she found there shocked her. She'd know that face anywhere.

"Hermione?!"

"Elder Granger? . . . Iva?"

Fenrir questioned at her shocked words. He'd heard of Hermione, vaguely. From rumors in the pack of the outside world, or a name Iva mentioned in passing.

Now, Fenrir was a wolf that didn't much like to be seen by non-werewolves, for he'd heard of what the magical community did to wolves if they were caught. Therefore, he cautiously backed away from any windows, leaving the immediate area around the door while his senses waited for a sign that he may have to defend his pack. Iva may have been human, but she was a part of the pack just like everyone else; she was family.

"Iva... or can I call you Grandma?"

Hermione replied, still surprised she had found her grandmother so easily. Okay, it wasn't exactly a piece of cake but she would have thought she would have been found out by her parents by now if anything.

Her attention was distracted as she noticed a shadow of a man leave out the back door. Whilst she didn't expect her grandmother to be single and alone she could have sworn that was a younger man's build - well, younger then her grandmother anyway.

"Did I come at the wrong time?"

She asked, her gaze trailing back to her grandmother.

"Of course not dear child. So you know everything then? Your parents told you finally?"

Iva asked eagerly, relieved everything would now be out in the open. Hermione sighed and shook her head sadly.

"No, they have told me nothing. I actually found the letters they and you sent. I came to find you so I can finally know the truth."

Hermione confessed sadly. She followed Iva as she was ushered to the couple of living room chairs.

"The truth? The truth is Hermione you are a Pureblood. I'm a Witch, my husband was a Wizard, and your mother's parents were Magical too. They were all Purebloods, and as I am sure you know Purebloods abhor Squibs. Your parents were born Squibs and due to the abuse and neglect shunned the Magical world and embraced the human one. Now, I know what you're thinking. Thats not enough to keep me secret though, is it? And you're right. It wasn't much later after my son, your father, left that my husband met with a terrible accident. One night he ran into a young Werewolf who hadn't yet accepted his inner Wolf on the full moon. Graham had just been passing by the Werewolf's home close to the fence when the Werewolf came out and attacked him."

Hermione gasped in shock, horrified.

"Now, now, I know what you're thinking but young Joshua wasn't to blame. His parents are the one to blame just like every other stupid, prejudiced idiots out there. Like everyone else they believed Werewolves were mere monsters and so had the poor boy chained in the basement like the abomination they thought he was. When he finally broke free it was no wonder he attacked someone, especially one that was close to invading his territory. Fortunately for him, Graham, and myself Alpha Lupo Greyback heard about it and brought us here, to his territory and Pack. Here he taught Grahamn and Joshua how to accept the Wolf, and together we learnt what being a Werewolf truly meant."

Now Hermione was confused. Whilst she was completely shocked out of her mind she was actually a Pureblood Witch, her brain was more confused over how her grandmother seemed to like Werewolves. Not Remus type Werewolves but real Werewolves that accepted their inner wolf like Fenrir Greyback and his Pack. Surely her grandmother wasn't insane?!

"What do you mean?"

She gasped, trying to hide her fear and slight disgust. Of course Iva knew her granddaughter too well. She had managed to see Hermione for the smallest portion of her childhood at around four to five years old. Iva had gone to her son's house and had managed to convince them she'd renounced her love of Werewolves, all a lie of course, just so she could get some alone time with her granddaughter. It had worked for a month or so, and she'd managed to take her granddaughter to these very woods as well but her son had soon found out.

"Oh don't look at me like that young lady! You loved them too. You even had a particular shine to one of them. You'd follow him around all the time like a lost little puppy eager to play whether he was human or wolf. Infact you loved to roll around with him whilst he was a wolf, loved the smell and feel of his fur if I recall right. You couldn't pronounce his name of course so you just called him Wolfie, but I knew from the moment you met him that you were destined to be a Werewolf's mate. Maybe even his Mate. Unfortunately your parents took you away and I never saw you again. Neither did he."

Iva did wonder if Hermione would have a heart attack if she found out her Wolfie was actually a teenaged Fenrir Greyback.

"Oh my god!"

Hermione gasped. She remembered, of course she did, but as she grew she'd just assumed the black shape known as Wolfie was a normal wolf - a puppy - not a half human half wolf Werewolf boy.

"I thought that was just a puppy! I kept asking my parents for a dog..."

Heh, now she could see why her parents refused to let her have any canine whatsoever.

Fenrir listened, just for a few moments, enough to know that this Hermione would not be a threat to Iva. Of course not, Iva could take care of herself. Still, she was the closest he'd had to a mother figure when he was a child, he was always protective of her.

Calming his worries, he bound away from the house, towards the packlands deep within the forest. There were things he needed to take care of, and someone he needed to talk to. The closer he came to his pack, the more he could hear the bustling sounds of life in a pack. These sounds were soothing, familiar. However there were certain things that were clearer than others.

"Don't let him fool you, Mr. Fenrir is a big old teddy bear when nobody's watching. I remember one timeβ€”"

Fenrir tolled his eyes as he listened in on the story that was being told to the pups of the pack, standing off to the side. Good old dad, always making up tall tales about him . . . mostly.

"If I remember correctly, it was I that rescued you and Joshua from those roaming wizards all those years ago, wasn't it?"

Fenrir questioned as he walked up to stand behind the children. They'd heard the playful banter between father and son many times, and therefore paid it no mind. However, they did smile up at their leader.

"Hi, Mr. Fenrir!"

They said excitedly the words getting mangled with all the voices speaking them.

"Hey kiddos. Can I talk with Elder Lupo for a few minutes? It's really important."

Fenrir said, stressing certain words to appeal to the children's way of thought as he smiled at the little pups. The future of the pride; he'd protect them with his last breath. After the children dispersed, Fenrir turned to his father.

"You're late. I was wondering what had happened to you."

Lupo said calmly as he lazily rose to his feet.

"I was checking something out. Do you recognize the name Hermione?"

"You don't? I'm surprised, Fenrir, you were fifteen last you saw her; it wasn't that long ago."

"What do you mean?"

"Do you remember the little girl that Iva used to bring around here?"

"The one that was always tugging on my tail and ears?"

"Yes, her. That's Hermione, Iva's granddaughter."

"So she's my neice?"

"Step-neice. And she's much more than that."

"I don't understand . . . "

"And you think I'm going to tell you? Come on, you should meet her properly."

"Dad, Iβ€”"

Fenrir cut himself off and sighed. There was no arguing with his father. He learned that the hard way. So, somewhat reluctantly, he followed his father back towards the home he'd just come from.

It was only as she was coming to grips with the shocking news that she noticed something.

Now she was used to those of magical blood living longer then Muggles and looking younger then Muggles the same age. However her grandmother, Iva, looked extremely young and now that she was looking properly there was definitely a healed bite mark on her neck.

"Wait. Why do you look so young, what is that mark for, and where is my grandfather Graham?"

Hermione asked, desperate for her questions to be asked.

"Graham is dead dear. We had an arranged marriage you see, so I had no choice but to follow him when he came to this Pack. Although Lupo taught Graham everything he knew Graham was not... Well, he was a vile man. A pig. He was the perfect Pureblood, and although Lupo taught him he never believed in a word of it. Lupo caught him trying to force me and killed him. He deserved it. Anyway, you'll love Lupo. He's so sweet, and he was kind enough to allow me to stay with the Pack even though I was still a Witch then. I stayed and over time we fell in love. When I finally confessed as such to me he then told me I was his Mate. We consumated our relationship that night, he marked me as his Mate, and now I'm a Werewolf. I couldn't be happier."

That through Hermione for a loop. Her grandmother was a Werewolf. She was with an Alpha Werewolf (at least he was an Alpha as far as she knew) that had killed her grandfather. Her grandfather was the worst man alive. Well, dead now.

"W-what about you looking y-younger?"

Hermione asked tentatively. As far as she knew being a Werewolf aged you very quickly. Remus had looked twice his age when he had been alive, the strain of his condition evident in his appearance.

"This is what happens when you accept your wolf. Not only do you look younger, making you almost immortal, but you can shift whenever you want - not just on the full moon. There are other bonuses of course but Lupo and Fenrir would explain it better to you."

Iva explained, smiling happily.

Wait. Fenrir?

"Please tell me you're not talking about who I think you're talking about!"

Hermione gasped, her hands gripping the arms of her chair as she half got out of her seat. Her grandmother could not know and be friends with an infamous criminal as Fenrir Greyback.

Iva didn't get a chance to respond as she at that moment heard Lupo and Fenrir coming towards the back door of the house.

"Its open love."

She called out, watching the door from her chair.

"Of course it is; you're far too trusting, dearest."

Lupo scoffed playfully as he walked into the house. A reluctant Fenrir followed behind him, his hand over his eyes as a groan escaped his lungs.

"Dad, please, haven't we been through this enough?"

Fenrir asked, not having noticed Hermione yet. Or at least, not acknowledging her.

"Get used to it, pup. You should know by now that I won't change my ways for your comfort."

"Bl**dy H**!"

Hermione swore, leaping out of her seat and jumping behind her chair as she whipped her wand out at the sight of THE Fenrir Greyback entering the house. She may not have seen much of him in the craziness that was the War at the battle of Hogwarts but she definitely remembered him with the Snatchers when she was on the Horcrux Hunt.

"Are you insane?! He's a murderer! He's sadistic, he rips others to shreds, turns children, takes women against their will, and likes it! How could you associate with the likes of him! He's a criminal. He's being hunted down. He belongs with the likes of De-"

Hermione didn't get much further into her speedy, shocked, and terrified rant before Iva cast a spell in her direction making her voice ineffective.

"Now, you shall sit down and behave like a proper young lady. Have I not proved already that what those inspid idiots of the Wizarding world know aren't correct? Now, sit!"

Iva said with a stately air, and after the firm command of sit (as well as being suitably chastised) Hermione tentatively circled the chair from the side furtherest away from the two men and sat down. Well, perched on it. She put her wand away, for now.

With a bright smile Iva turned to Lupo, walking over and giving him a sound kiss on the lips with a happy rumble in her throat. Pulling away, she looked at him affectionately before looking at all three in her house in turn.

"My family is all together. I couldn't be happier."

"Excuse me," Fenrir growled in offence, "who ever said I liked it? Tell me his name so that I may teach him the meaning of truth. Everything I've ever done is to protect my pack, my family!"

He snapped, glaring at Hermione through narrowed eyes before turning to his father and Iva.

"I don't care who she is; she's a witch, she can't be trusted! She fights for the rights of House-elves, and Veela, and Centaurs, but what about us? She's a prejudiced as the rest of them, willing to believe everything the Ministry says about us!"

As Fenrir ranted, Lupo watched him calmly, and arm wrapped around Iva's waist. He was afraid this would happen; Fenrir was very paranoid of the outside world since his mother died when he was a young pup. His dealings with Voldemort didn't help things any. Before his son could continue, Lupo reached out and grabbed the back of his neck, like a wolf grabbing their pup's scruff, causing the younger male to fall to his knees as his muscles tensed up out of instance from the specific contact.

"Who told you this? Tell me his name so that I may teach him the meaning of truth."

Lupo said, his voice taunting and challenging as he released his grip on his son.

"Everyone can be taught."

"Graham couldn't be taught."

"Everyone, who is willing."

Hermione was stunned and terrified as Fenrir snapped at her, frozen to her seat. She wouldn't have been able to move even if he had lunged her she was in such a state. However when Lupo grabbed Fenrir by the back of his neck she came out of it. The whole gesture was so paternal and animal like she couldn't help but watch with a furrow of the eyebrows.

It was what Lupo said, however, that made her realise that maybe she had been too quick to judge. Of course she doubted there was smoke without fire and so something must be true. Besides, she had been rather stupid to insult someone on their own territory when they not only had support but she hadn't actually told anyone where she had gone.

She opened her mouth to attempt something like an apology, she was scared and the chair suddenly didn't seem so safe anymore, but then realised she was for all intents and purposes mute. What was she supposed to do now? She supposed she'd have to use body language but overly large gestures could be very confusing which meant... She'd have to use animal gestures they'd be familiar with. Her grandmother did it on purpose! Her gaze snapped over to Iva and she could have sworn she saw her lips twitch into a brief smirk. Oh that was sneaky! Darn it, that was where she got her own sneakiness from.

Touche. For now, her grandmother won.

Mentally grumbling, Hermione shakily rose from her chair as she stared over at Fenrir. If she got her throat ripped out she was haunting her grandmother for the rest of her grandmother's life. Shaking just a little she slowly walked over to whom she guessed was father and son. With another glare at her grandmother she slowly went onto her knees, grabbed as much of her bushy hair as possible and pulled it aside as she tilted her head to the side to bare her neck.

This was absolutely ridiculous.

Fenrir watched Hermione cautiously as she came closer, his eyes showing full well that he didn't trust her, not for a moment. He hadn't made a move to respond to Bermione's actions for nearly a minute when Lupo nudged him forward.

"Dad, no, I'm not doing it."

He growled, though this only caused Lupo to shove him harder.

"Listened to your instincts, Pup, they haven't failed you before."

"She tried to kill me during that war; what would you have done if she succeeded?"

"I'm not that old, you know."

"Eww, dad, that's gross."

Fenrir growled, shaking his head to try and clear the mental images away. He knew full and well his father was active in that aspect, but that didn't mean he acknowledged it on a day to day basis. In fact he tried rather hard to forget it.

With a reluctant sigh, and knowing he wouldn't be left alone until he did so, Fenrir cautiously leaned forward, watching for any sign of an attack from Hermione before he bit her neck. Hard. He made sure his teeth didn't pierce her skin, but only ruptured the blood vessels under the surface.

"..."

That was the part where Hermione cursed loudly, or well she tried but due to being mute thanks to a spell nothing came out of her moving mouth.

She had no idea why she'd done what she did next before, during, or after the act. It was some kind of urge or impulse.

Before she knew what was happening she'd lunged for him too, her hands gripping his biceps as she sunk her own teeth into his neck.

Iva couldn't help but giggle at the sight before turning eyes to her mate.

"Look at that - young love!"

Fenrir growled deep in his chest as he felt Hermione's teeth against his skin, biting harder against her neck. He couldn't help it; it was as instinctual as breathing. The pressure of the bite broke through her skin and caused the blood within to leak into his mouth, his tongue moving to lap at the wound and ease the sting.

Wait . . .

Fenrir froze and slowly pulled back, staring at the wound he just created.

"You knew this would happen . . . you planned this . . . "

He said, a low growl in his voice as he refused to look at his father.

"Can't plan instinct, Pup."

Lupo smirked, pulling Iva closer to his side.
