On the topic of 'realistic' Mortality, but by PLAYER choice:

Sometimes you have an aging Lioness whom you wish to add to the Dynasty but is too young to die of old age- Or you might have a spare Submale... or that annoying Adolescent that you can't quite sell...

I had this idea for 'mortality' in the game that would be FULLY OPTIONAL:

"Go on Walkabout"

Like the Games, or Hunting, or Patrolling- you choose one of your lions to send on "Walkabout". Choose your tile/area, and each one would have a different set of results.

This would COST, so that it encouraged GB buying/use in the game- perhaps 1-5 GB per lion.

Humans are gamblers. We totally want to see if something 'gets' our Lioness/Adol/Submale/etc, AND what that would be... you might offer a randomized option for much less (say 200 SB) that MIGHT kill the lion. While the GB price promises death...

The Dead Lioness could then be added to the Dynasty pages.

Submales/Adols might also be added to Dynasty pages if this is possible to code without a big hassle.

Example:

I spend 200 SB to send my stupid Adol on "Walkabout"- I have a specific chance that I will get one of several 'responses'. Like a randomizer, like in explore, the 'results' are merely words, not artwork or anything.

Some Examples for the 'non-lethal' results:

-(name) went on Walkabout in the Bushveld... and got shot at by some guys in a truck! EEK! (name) will think twice before wandering off like that again!

-(name) went on Walkabout in the Dry Savannah. There was a rotting corpse of a poached lion there, and (name) came home FAST!

Example of LETHAL encounters (by random SB cost or chosen GB death):

-(name) went on Walkabout by a Dry Riverbed... a Flash Flood was the LAST thing (name) expected, and after a brief struggle, (name) has Drowned. (to place (name) in your dynasty, click here)

-(name) went on Walkabout to have some quiet time and think about life and death and the cycle of the world. Unfortunately, a herd of Wildebeest were thinking about the good grazing on the other side of that valley, and (name) was Trampled to death! (to place (name) in your dynasty, click here)

-(name) was out on Walkabout, when a Rival Lion attached! (name) was killed. (To add (name) to your dynasty click here.)

NOTES:

1) This is NOT meant to in any way increase the art demand, just to provide short little story/reasons why a lion or lioness might die 'early'.

2) You should only be able to take a 'chance' Walkabout ONE time per day, with each lion/lioness.

3) You should be able to take the 'guaranteed death' GB option as many times as you want, to 'kill' adols, submales, and lionesses at your own whim without incurring negative karma or having in-pride violence. Kings are not the ONLY cause of death out there!

4) I think it would be fun to have players come up with ideas for the results, So that every month staff adds a few 'new' ones, so it slowly grows the number of possible outcomes, both lethal and non-lethal.

I think it would be easier to just kill your lions, than paying GB for it/paying 200SB for a CHANCE that it will be killed. No support, sorry.

However, if you changed the walkabout option so it was perhaps a little similar to the sub-male patrol and they got stuff like XP, items, maybe even a special decor/bg, I could get behind that. c: {though maybe not stats since we're trying to keep that down}

It isn't about 'killing' them. It's about being able to get rid of den 'clutter' in a creative and interesting way for those who keep pride stories or such. It's also a way for the game to keep earning SB/GB as 'sinks' for people who want to save the data (the lions/lionesses) in the Dynasty.

You can already kill (costing 5% energy and minus 5 Karma) or chase (costing nothing) if you do NOT want to store old or no longer useful lionesses in the Dynasty... if you do, your only chance is to let them hang around and wait for the game to tell you they died. So. Boring. This could be kind of cool-fun in comparison.

I don't know if I support this just for pride stories... maybe it would make sense if there was also a chance of prizes? I don't really see most players being motivated enough to spend money for a chance at killing their lions. In fact the most helpful arrangement would probably be the other way around.
