Friesians aren't exactly built for racing, just so you know. They're not endurance or speed horses at all. Warmbloods are the typical racers. TBs, QHs, Arabs...those are the more popular racers, but there's plenty of other stamina and speed specialized breeds. Friesians excell in dressage and carriage pulling, since that's what the breed was built for. You also won't typically see an 8 year old horse racing much. Racers are retired at a relatively young age due to the heavy stress racing puts in their bones and joints. They're then either sold or kept for breeding the next generation. Just figured I'd say something since you mentioned being realistic. ^-^; (sorry, major animal nerd here)
