I drew this picture of one of my lionesses, and I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to help with my shading/anatomy? I'm kinda new to drawing lions, and my shading is a bit too off (it doesn't really look like 'fur' yet, even though lions have super short fur.) I'm particularly looking to improve on the muscle structure and the face.

I'd pay a few sb/gb for some nice redlines aswell. ;v;

Just from my own anatomy and drawing style (I'm a bit more cartoony though)

Np!! Hit me up if you need anything else C:

You've got a good start where you had it but the shoulder lines did look a bit out of place, it might be that they're just too dark.

Yeah, I'll be sure to lighten up the shading and lines in some areas next time. Thanks!

The only thing I'm seeing that could use a little anatomy help would be the paws, they seem a bit small like a domestic cat's. Lion's paws are a tad larger and bulkier. Other than that I think you're doing just fine ^^

I am used to drawing domestic cats a lot, so thats probably why. The back paws look especially small to me. Thanks Starlord! ^v^

My attempt at help :)

I'm by no means an expert, but here are some tips I use myself, hopefully they're helpful for you as well!

Top Image/Redline
Leg/Foot placement
Muzzle is a different angle
Spine/back more angular
"Abdominal Tuck" a bit more evident
Where I'd Shade and Highlight

Bottom Image
A bit more about the Leg/Foot placement
Shows that the Elbow and Knee should be the same height

Tips
Try shading in Brown, Blue, or Purple!
Always add highlights, not JUST shading

And as a final note, your shading style is actually beautiful :) Hope this has helped a little!

Oh my gosh Ally, thank you so much! ;o; Your redlines are amazing, and the tips you provided are very helpful. I'll be sure to look back at your post next time I try my hand at a lion, ily<3
