So today I ran into an issue with someone withdrawing a stud request after I burned all my energy. Really wanting to help this person, I grabbed an energy boost, and -poof- the request was gone. I know this is a trick of the trade for some, but it's pretty shady, so here's what I propose.

Stud requests seem to still be essentially a promise-based transaction until the studding is completed. I suggest that once attempts have been made, say 10 or so, the request may not be withdrawn without paying a type of "contract cancellation" fee; 20% of the stud fee for example. This would also hold true for stud racing, as a successful breeding by someone else's lion would be treated as a withdrawn stud request.

Edit 9/26: Have a customizable fee amount down to 0, as a means of opting out.

Any additions, ideas, criticisms welcome.

I've had this issue quite a few times, especially since I'm open to all VLF for no extra fee, with no word as to why from the person who withdrew, just POOF no more request after I've spent 1-2 full bars.
I love helping the VLF community of breeders but this kind of stuff does make it hard. I support, I don't know what would be a good way implicating this but maybe just some way to help avoiding these types of situations.

I tentatively support this. I feel like this should be something you can toggle on and off if you choose to. As some people don't really care and enjoy stud racing, and losing the energy isn't that huge of a deal to them. So if you welcome stud races then I don't think the fee should be applied. But unless asked about it first or I volunteer, I don't do stud races, as I'm a huge event participant. And losing out on so much energy only to get nothing in return is a huge disappointment indeed and a compensation would be better.

But then again you know the risks when studding and people don't always follow studding rules so either way I guess it's not too huge a deal. It's an annoyance and disappointment at the time but after that I just forget about it.

I also don't mind helping VLFs, but after this I have decided to start charging more. I'm a softie, so I don't know how long I will do so, but right now it's staying.

As for the fee, it can always be refunded if desired.

Yeah, Hawkeye you pretty much stated how I feel. It's a risk I'm willing to take but it would be nice if there was some feature to assist with this kinda thing plus stud racing, I did stud racing for awhile but had to stop when my rules were being broken and I didn't want to spend all the energy on that anymore so I can continue working on my stats.
So it's a tentative support but a support none the less.

@Lullaside: some people have contests that involve stud racing. (Ex: First person to get this lioness preggers gets a GB). For things like that, the ability to toggle it on and off(And somewhere being informed that it's toggled on for the breeder) would be much easier instead of trying to trust that you'll be refunded the SB.

What if the amount was customisable, either by percentage or flat fee? You could choose to charge nothing and just not be affected by it.

Support. I always found it unfair that one uses their energy only to find that it was a waste.

I support this, as long as the fee is customisable.
