new-york-city-sky-view-3-ms-judi.jpg

It’s a war that has damaged many.
There is not a soul alive that hasn’t heard of the age old war between Vampires and Werewolves; a blood feud, rivalry, a wrong done to another. We’ve heard tales of it all in stories and movies, televisions and spoken myths and laugh it off with the ease of believing that it’s all fiction. But there is a war going on right under our noses. These beasts of the night and moon are real and lurking just under the surface of our bright, happy, cheery, and naïve lives. They run the undergrounds in the forms of gangs, mafias if you will. They do so with ease and brutal efficiency only seen there, always trying to outdo one and other while fighting too gain ground and territory. The vampires are not the shiny, sparkling people with neat kept nails who live in pent houses or have people flinging themselves to their knees as food. No, that would be a made up image brought about by humans who thought that’s what they would be. Vampires are neat, efficient killers with a taste for blood and violence and often times can be slightly colder than the normal person. Too much sunlight will make them sick, yes, but the scariest thing is that they look exactly like you and me. The werewolves aren’t big slobbering mutts or even excessively impulsive canines that walk on two legs and are often from the ghetto or poor families. Their people with the power to change shape easily from human too canine, walking or running on two legs or four, and are slightly impulsive in either shape. But most of the time, they look like us too…

A kind of war, a feud more like, is raging within Vancour City just under the noses of the humans who live their lives in blissful ignorance. House Praetor and House Valencia; House Moon and House Blood for more laymen-like names. The first is a house made up solely of Lycans, their ruling lands consist of Northern and Eastern Vancour. The second is a mafia group made up of solely vampires, their ruling land is the Southern and Western parts of the city. There has been fighting for years and it has been tearing the two Houses apart day by day as more lives are lost. But most of it has died down now and everything seems to be calming after the last five years of all out fighting. The fighting had ended when Maximillian Praetor and Augustine Valencia had both pasted away. Too many lives have been lost though, the Houses are struggling to stand by themselves after all of this fighting. Now their successors have a lot to deal with as they try to repair the damage that had been done. But there has been a string of deaths along the borders between the groups, a mix of werewolves, vampires, and even humans, that had connections with the Houses, had been killed and had large runes burned into their chests and arms. It hints at the arrival of hunters, probably sent to deal with the fighting that had originally taken place there. Sent to clean everything up and start over. It is now up too these two groups to decide their fates. Roll over and die, split up, or prove too the hunters that the two Houses can easily coexist in peace…

.:Vampire/Werewolf/Hunter Rules:.
• Vampires are able to be out in the sun but not for extended period’s time because it can make them sick. They have to drink at least a cup of blood a week or run the risk of going rampant. They do tend to have slightly paler skin and run colder than a normal human. They cannot speak of holy idols, touch crosses, or step foot onto hollow ground as it can hurt them. Rampant vampires are noticed by their slitted pupils, elongated canine teeth, paler skin, and black sclera, they also tend to sport claws and can act very irrationally. ‘Rampant’ vampires are caused by another biting a human and the process going wrong, consistently killing humans when feeding, or not feeding enough. They have an aversion too silver objects but only if their blessed, they can pick up the end of a car but cannot pick up the entire thing. They rely more on intelligence and speed, being much faster than a hunter or a werewolf.

• Werewolves are more impulsive on full moons and new moons, being territorial and possessive about nearly everything. They do seem more than likely to eat rarer meat and look human besides a higher skin temperature. Their senses are keener and have a sharp mind when human, but as the beast they tend too loose that sharp wit and become so much more animalistic in natural. Though they do retain a human mindset but lose the ability to speak. Werewolves can go rogue, a rogue werewolf will be thinner and often without a pack and its eyes will be bloodshot or a very dark yellow. They are a major danger and will often attack humans, maiming them and sometimes turning them. These guys rely on brute strength and their superior stamina and strength, being much stronger than a vampire or a hunter.

• Hunters are fairly unknown, they work in small close knit groups and are the boogeymen for the monsters. They only show up too take care of problematic clans and have been known to wipe out entire houses in only a few days. They are extremely dangerous, it only takes about three to five too wipe out a vampire or werewolf population from a city if that populace is deemed unstable. It is not unknown for them too form bonds with the werewolves or vampires though, but more often they tend to have a dislike towards the species. They are born from warlocks and can perform small conjuring spells; lights, objects under twenty pounds, food and if powerful enough they can make potions that alter appearances.

Weather & Season
It is currently November and wintertime is here! 13°C/56°F means that there is plenty of snow on everything and walking around without good, heavy, and warm clothing isn't advised at all outside the home. It is the coldest winter in years and there are expected too be many blizzards throughout November all the way to January! It is getting dark now and most humans will be insides even though clubs are starting too open their doors to the night life.

Supernatural News
It has been two weeks since the deaths of Augustine Valencia and Maximilian Praetor. Four days ago two werewolves, two vampires, and a human were found dead along the boarders between territories. Precautions must be taken because the hunters have finally arrived. The damage to both houses is still noticeable because of the lack of both species within the Houses. House Praetor and House Valencia are still recovering from damages.

Isaac Lopez | Male | 18 | Praetor | Werewolf | New blood |Current form : Human | Mentions : None ( Open! ) | Location: Unknown

He heard the noise of other's chatting amongst themselves. His eyes were closed, and it felt like he had been sleeping for days. He opened his eyes slowly, his gaze hazy for a few moments. When he regained his vision, what came into view was an unknown place to him. He noticed he was on the floor and placed on his back. He held his arm out, noticing he was wearing the clothes that he had on when he was bitten by a wolf. He had a long sleeved shirt on and jeans. It was a bit chilly, and he felt himself get goosebumps from the chilly air that surrounded him.

He finally had the courage to stand up. When he did everything seemed to become a blur. What's... Happening...? he thought a bit worried. When indeed it was the affects of being bitten from what he thought was a wolf, but was actually a werewolf ( open to who ever wanted to bite him ). He then heard voices, and when he turned to see who it was not a single person was there. I must be imaging things... , thinking it was all a mere dream. He raised his head to see what is the time of day, but he couldn't tell because it was gloomy. Ugh.. I forgot, it's the winter, it gets darker at an earlier time.. a bit angered at the thought as he shook his head. Snow had fallen from his jet black hair, which then landed on his shoulders. He swept the snow off his shoulders, a bit agitated since he didn't know what was happening.

Maybe if I call out someone can hear me? He thought about it for a moment. Then he decided he would go through with the plan." H-Hello.?" He said with a bit of reluctance as his voice traveled through the misty land before him. His voice was raspy due to him being without food and water for a few days. The puff of icy breath filled the air as he breathed in and out, trying to keep himself warm. Shuddering a bit he held his arms together and stood in the cold place, waiting for an answer.

Ezekiel Santiago| Male | 21 years| House Valencia Boss| Vampire| Mentions; Hunters, Jax (NPC), Costae (NPC), Viktor, Ava, and Deonday {Indirectly} | Location: His House

Fourty-eight hours straight since he had been around another person, a week and a half since he had drunk blood, and six weeks since he had killed Augustine Valencia and took her title all while laughing. He was supposed to be a grand boss, bringing change and prosperity when he took over and helping everything heal. Ha. What a laugh. He ran off with a werewolf, refused to drink blood, and had basically adopted a human. Ezekiel knew he was a shitty boss, a shitty person even for leading his mother on instead of cutting ties, and an even shittier vampire. So here he sat, alone in the dark of his living room with the curtains shut tight and the television off. He hadn’t moved for the last what…three hours straight? He laid stretched out on his couch in boxers without a shirt, staring blankly at the cross necklace on the table with one long wing stretched out too touch the TV set and the other curled up over the top of the couch and touching the floor on the other side. Deonday or Viktor would probably come looking for him sooner or later, or Ava would stop by, hence why he had closed the curtain and locked the front door. He deserved to be alone right now, letting the memories of the last few months wash over him, sulking basically. So many of the vampires died, so few were left, and now the hunters. Hunters had entered his city, killed the last of his soldiers, and now they demanded that House Valencia and House Praetor meet them at some stupid Inn across the city with all who were left to discuss some stupid treaty. A violent twitch of his left wing hit the TV and brought him back, eyes narrowing violently as hunger bit down like a dog with a rabbit and wouldn’t let up. Ezekiel was determined to ignore it though, a growl building up in his throat before dying down and his eyes slowly moving from slits to circular all over again as he let the thoughts come back and went back too blocking out the world for the next couple of hours again.

[ Viktor Kovalenko ]
Male ❇ 23 ❇ Werewolf ❇ House Praetor ❇ Underboss
Location - Ezekiel's House ❇ Mentions: Ezekiel, Kade

The past two weeks had been a living nightmare. Maximilian Praetor was dead, the pack had to deal with adjusting to a new leader, two wolves were murdered in a mysterious ritual and worse yet, hunters were on the loose. Viktor’s fangs glinted in the rising moonlight before his lips curled back into a defiant snarl. He hadn’t been born into this, but he would defend his new kin with tooth and claw all the same. His packmates' slaughter would not go unpunished. He had promised them that much at their graves.

The meeting the hunters had requested, or demanded rather, was looming ever closer. Kade likely wouldn’t allow him to attend despite his becoming the new underboss. He was too easily guided by emotions. This scenario would end with his teeth in someone’s throat or a silver bullet in his skull. Viktor had made a lot of progress all things considered. Only a werewolf for eight years and he’d managed to master a full transformation at will and proven capable of human thought when putting his mind to it even in wolf form. It was more than most bitten werewolves managed to accomplish in such a short amount of time by their standards, but he was still wilder in nature than a born wolf.

His current rank had kept him busy for the past few days. The murders especially giving him little time for anything beyond pack business. Kade was a new leader and needed his support. He was required to be around to back her up and make certain no attempt was made on her life or to take her place. House Praetor couldn’t take the loss of another boss. All the same he also knew Kade was fully capable of taking care of herself and most of the pack was loyal. Trailing after her everywhere she went would only prove to annoy her, or at least that’s the excuse he used to justify leaving the woods for the city.

It’d been at least five days since he last saw Ezekiel. If he knew the vampire as well as he thought he did the stress would be getting to him right about now. Even if Viktor hadn't been concerned for the other man’s mental and emotional well-being it wouldn’t have changed anything. He needed a break from all the recent struggles, an escape and solace he only found when with Ezekiel.

He didn’t bother transforming, racing into the city on swift paws that allowed faster travel than his human form could ever hope to provide. He kept to empty alleyways and shadowed paths to remain out of sight of humans, arriving on Ezekiel's doorstep moments later. He pawed at the front door to alert the house’s presumably only occupant he should let him in, unable to speak or knock in this form. He could change once he got inside, having plenty of clothes stashed away from various other visits.

When no one answered him he morphed into a partial shift so he could wrap his now more flexible paw around the doorknob only to find it locked. A sad whine filled his throat and he clawed at the door more persistently before giving up and circling the house in the hopes of finding an open window somewhere. No such luck. Every window was tightly sealed. Viktor’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. Ezekiel did this on purpose and he knew it. He paused near the rose garden in the backyard and sat back on his hindquarters for a moment, mind searching for ideas. It was somewhat harder to think in this form. The mind of man and beast combined in a way that should be unnatural.

Why was Ezekiel hiding from him? ’Angry? Gone too long?’ No, that wasn’t it. They both had to put aside personal time together for the sake of their houses. Ezekiel wouldn’t be so petty. It was more likely he was stuck in another vicious cycle of self-deprecation. That thought alone urged Viktor to find another way inside and he didn’t waste anymore time thinking about it. He trotted over to the living room window and peered inside. It was dark, but enhanced eyesight allowed him to distinguish the subtle silhouette of a wing draped over the couch. He barked loudly and tapped at the window with a claw, certain Ezekiel couldn't conveniently not hear him now. The bark was fairly assertive, the sound of claws hitting glass getting louder with each tap. He would break the damn thing if he had to.

Kade Grace || Female || 27 years || Werewolf - Boss (would she be the Godmother?) || Location: Unknown || Mentions: Issac

Kade slunk through the forest with ease, the kind that comes from being the master - or, in this case, mistress - of the territory. Snow collected on her deep-brown back, only to be shaken off by her movement or melt from her body heat. Someone was nearby. For now, she was hidden by the fog, and was going to keep it that way until they spoke, which they did only moments later.

The voice was masculine and afraid, and the werewolf was quite happy that she'd chosen to strap a tank top and jeans to her leg today. Then she smelled werewolf, and realized that this person had been bitten. Now that she knew, she could smell their wound, though faintly. This would take some convincing. She sighed, and then made sure to make some noise as she approached, hopefully from where he could see her. It wouldn't do to frighten him.

Kade purposefully stepped on fallen, dry branches that it normally would have been effortless to avoid until she stood right before the guy. There was no mistaking her for a normal wolf; she was far too large, and even if he didn't know that, there was an intelligence in her eyes that wolves, while very intelligent, lacked.

Ava Cassida || Female || 19 years || Allianced with the Valencia House (human) || Location: Her home, travelling, Ezekiel's house || Mentions: Ezekiel, Viktor

Ava had taken to sleeping during the day and waking at night, but for some reason, right when she woke up, she wanted to say 'morning' instead of 'afternoon'. Perhaps she hadn't adjusted all the way yet. As she got up, took a shower, and dressed, it occurred to her that she hadn't cried. Normally she woke with a tear-streaked face, or cried at some point in her daily routine, but not today. The tiny girl smiled and finished blow-drying her hair and did her makeup, then pulled on several layers of thin jackets, knee-high leather boots, and one thick leather jacket that was really too big for her, but she cuffed the sleeves and dealt with it. It still smelled like Aries, and that almost got her, but not quite.

As she left the house, she slotted her helmet over her head and started the motorcycle, a very large, black beast that she had gotten from Aries's family after he died. For some reason, this thought was comforting as she flew along the streets, going over the speed limit and not caring. Ava was quite glad for her gloves; the air was chilly in a way that had teeth. She skidded to a halt before Ezekiel's house, then actually pulled into the driveway, before hopping off the bike, removing her helmet, and striding up to the front door, which she rapped on several times. She then tried the doorknob and was shocked to find that it was locked. "Ezeeeekieeel!" she called, beating on the door again. "You home?" By then, she'd noticed that someone else was there, trying to get in - Viktor? She was pretty sure that was his name, so she walked over and watched him for a minute before speaking. "Hey."

Michelle Rye | 25 | Female | Human | Location: Her Bookstore | Mentions:

She needed a hobby, better yet, Michelle needed friends. The brunette was seated behind the front desk in her bookstore, reading a newspaper article with her glasses perched on the tip of her nose as she mumbled the words from the page. She enjoyed reading articles out loud to herself, because Michelle is weird in that way, but she didn’t to disturb any customers who may be browsing through the shelves. Not that anyone ever came book shopping here, especially not around the time that some of the clubs were going to start opening. Pulling herself away from the article about five murders in the area. Michelle was more or less aware that hunters were behind the deaths, which somewhat concerned her. Any hunter who knew her father likely know who Michelle was as well. The houses just had to start fighting enough to draw attention to themselves. Michelle wasn’t overly upset by the fighting, as long as no trouble was caused for her of course. She just wasn’t sure how the new hunters in town would react to running into a former hunter who didn’t do a thing to stop said fighting.

A glance at the clock on the wall told Michelle it was closing time. Rising to her feet and stretching, the brunette moved out from behind the desk. Before she even thought of going to swap the sign from open to close, she went through the aisles double-checking that there wasn’t anyone still browsing. As she was doing this, Michelle noticed an older looking book on the shelves, one she immediately pulled down. She had been pretty good at getting some of the old books that had never sold off the shelves, most of them having been from when her grandmother was the one running the show. Now and then, Michelle would come across one she missed. Most times the book was passed over because another book had distracted Michelle.

Forgetting her purpose, Michelle read the back of the book, and moseyed back to the counter, and plopped back down in her chair. Closing time could wait for a little, as she read the first chapter of this book. There was the problem with running a bookstore, there was always something distracting. A few minutes passed, and Michelle suddenly remembered she had been closing up shop. Cursing under her breath, Michelle hurried over to the front door and flipped the sign from open to closed before locking the door. If anyone was still in the building they’d just have to be escorted out later. Michelle paused a moment to look around the bookstore, before sighing. She really did need friends.

Just to be on the safe side, she searched the store to find no one, something she had been expecting, before running up to the upper floor which happened to be her apartment. She rummaged around the organized chaos, locating a coat, her bag, wallet and ID. For safety’s sake she dropped a specialized pocket knife given to her by her hunter of a father. She hadn’t needed to use the thing, but she never left home without it all the same. Scurrying back downstairs, Michelle locked up the store and her apartment before setting off down the street. She was well aware that she had been neglecting her grocery shopping and her food situation was less then desirable. So late night errands it was.

Argento Barrett| Male | 23 | Hunter| Hooman? | Location: Inn| Mentions: (Directly) Conner / (Indirectly) Aaeson
The members of the Houses would show up, he was confident of that. The other hunters and himself had taken out an unignorable number of their members and if they wished at all for the killing to stop, they'd show up to discuss this treaty. Currently it was just him and Conner that was present in the room. "Aaeson said he was coming, I think." He could hardly remember as he had been preoccupied with contacting the Houses in the least likely to get himself attacked manner. He couldn't even remember who's idea it was to set up this meeting but it seemed like a good idea, so probably himself? He was full of good ideas or at least that's what he told himself. Hopefully both groups behaved as he really didn't feel like harming or killing anything today. However if they chose to attack he was armed to the teeth with knives and other various weapons. He simply assumed Conner was as well. When would the members get here? Oh, great. He wasn't even sure he sent them a specific time. After checking a burner phone he was relieved to see he had given them a time. Good. He pocketed the phone for now deciding he'd throw it out after the meeting.

What was he supposed to do to burn time before they arrived? Well Conner was here but he really wasn't too keen on chatting with other hunters. He hadn't wanted to be a hunter himself in the first place. What was he even supposed to talk about? Work? He really hoped he wasn't the person to talk about his work, that was a topic he really prefer to stay away from. At that moment he half considered ignoring his presence altogether and playing on his normal phone until those from the Houses arrived for the meeting. Conner didn't exactly seem like someone you'd want to talk to. The only thing he could think to say was related to the upcoming meeting. Even if the Houses finally made some sort of peace treaty, "Even if this works, what do we do if they start drastically increasing their numbers?" There was always the risk both Houses would keep raising their numbers and firepower quietly before either trying to kill him and the other hunters, or try to kill each other off like before.

Deonday Bannister | Male | 21 | House Valencia Soldier | Vampire | Location: Lost, then found at Eze's home| Mentions: (Directly) Ezekiel, Michelle, Ava, Viktor/ (Indirectly) Grendile
Where was he? He was suppose to be looking for their boss but by this point, they might have to send a search party out for him. Hah, search party. There were so few of their House left it would probably be too risky for them to look for him with the hunters on the... hunt? Sure, hunt. Oh! Finally! A landmark he recognized. It was a drug/convenience store with a creepy looking snowman decoration in the window. On the side of the building was graffiti that said, "Stay Frosty." None of their house members put it there, so it was probably done by a few bored teens that sucked at coming up with decent graffiti. Now that he knew where he was, hopefully he could find Eze's place. Deonday probably stood there for a good ten minutes just trying to figure out where his place might be before giving up and picking a random direction. He had a phone that his friend had gotten him, it had GPS. He just rarely used it unless there was an emergency that he couldn't handle. While walking he passed by another location he vaguely recognized, the bookstore. Never had he been a book person. Grendile was the one who sent him here often to pick up his books. He noticed Michelle but took no actual notice of her. Not that he knew her well anyway. As far as he was concerned she was just another oblivious human. There was no time to stop and chat anyway. Seeing Ezekiel was too important right now. Important enough she could've probably followed and he wouldn't have noticed.

After a good few minutes of walking he miraculously ended up at Ezekiel's house, or perhaps, he had known the way there all along? Who knew. He had a good reason to be here. Better than his usual excuses he made up. Ezekiel was expected at a meeting– or for all they knew a trap– that had been set up by the hunters. His friend and superior Grendile had wanted him to ensure that their leader was going. He wasn't sure why it was important though. Something about insulting the hunters or the Praetor house?

When he walked up to Eze's house he first noticed Ava's bike. It had been awhile since he had seen the girl. A human had been killed, presumably with ties to one of the houses so perhaps it was best he hadn't seen her for awhile. He maybe had to walk a few more steps before he could clearly see Ava and... Viktor? Seeing the guy was no surprise, but him in his half shifted form in the open was. He despised the guy beyond the usual House feud for... reasons. There was little risk for Ava to be standing that close to him, probably. Deonday moved over to the front door only to find it was locked. Common sense should've told him that if the others were by the window then it was probably locked, but he had little common sense. Then he knocked on the door because at the least he had figured if there were others here so must Ezekiel. He was so close to just kicking in the door. He had walked all this way to avoid being spotted by the very few humans still awake. There was no way he was walking all the way back to Grendile only for him to send him out and look for him again or ramble on about how important this meeting was. "Eze, open the door!" He was so close to just kicking it in.

Grendile Kyro| Male | 27 | House Valencia Capos | Vampire | Location: His apartment/Arvia's front door | Mentions: (Directly) Arvia / (Indirectly)Hunters, Deonday
With the old boss gone and replaced by Ezekiel it felt like most of their House activities had slowed to a near halt. Their old leader had been far too hostile and was always keeping them busy. He had brought too many soldiers and new bloods to their deaths at the hands of werewolves due to her poor decisions. If she was still alive she would probably have them fighting down to their last member. They had lost most of their remaining soldiers to the hunters leaving Deonday as their last one. That's why he had him stay at his place for a little while until they were sure the hunters wouldn't kill him off as well. Luckily he was so aggressive and rash that he was injured when the bulk of their soldiers were out being killed by the hunters. Chances were if his friend were to run into a hunter he'd try to attack them and get himself killed like the rest of their soldiers. That was exactly why there was no way in hell Deonday was going to that meeting. Something would set him off and he'd attack only to get himself, and if he messed up enough potentially their entire house killed.

Why would he risk having Deonday outside today if he was potentially at such a risk of getting killed? Because supposedly the hunters would be holding a meeting. That hopefully meant that the hunters weren't on the prowl and wouldn't be available to kill his friend. Be it a trap or not he was going to that meeting and felt Ezekiel had to go, he had his friend out to hopefully get their boss to show up to said meeting. Sure they ran the risk of the meeting being a trap. If they didn't go those hunters would likely just hunt them down anyway. Their boss had to go or else his absence may make this treaty invalid and the hunters would start picking them off anyway. Grendile started rummaging through a pile of more recent newspapers. The recent deaths had left him a little more information of these hunters, but he knew little more than the others. He'd been trying to research the runes left on their deads' bodies with little success. There was too little information to determine any patterns they attacked in other than they'd killed most their remaining soldiers. They were trying to disarm them one member at the time. If they were going after their most vicious first then he was worried Deonday could very well be the next one they'd find dead with runes burned into his skin. If these hunters legitimately wanted a treaty, then they'd get one if it staved off a few more deaths so they could rebuild their numbers. They needed new bloods.

He wasn't sure if this meeting was for the two houses to come up with their own terms and conditions of the peace treaty, or if they were simply there to sign a piece of paper with rules the hunters had made up and that bothered him. He wasn't sure what to expect, but if there was even the slightest possibility that they'd be making up their own rules he'd want their other Capos present. Maybe, but if this wasn't a trap he'd want her to be able to take Eze's place should something horrible happen. Not that there would be much left to look after. He moved away from the newspapers to get dressed in more presentable clothing. After putting on a coat and shoes he was out of the building and onto the streets. There was some time before they had to be at the inn so he'd just go ask Arvia herself to see if she planned on going to the meeting, among other important House related things. Ezekiel was their boss, but he hadn't actually been acting as their leader lately. He'd been isolating himself so he felt he and Arvia had been keeping the House from falling into disorder. The few of their members that remained below them needed orders, and lately he felt him and his coworker had been running the bulk of the House's operations. He didn't stop once on his way to his fellow Capos' place. He didn't want to arrive last minute leaving no time to discuss any plans of actions moving foreword. Here he was, Arvia's place. He knocked and waited. Oh, great. He hadn't even considered the slightest possibility that she might not even be sober, he should've called first. If it turned out she wasn't sober there was a chance coming over here was a waste of time. There was no way she could show up to the meeting impaired.

Issac Lopez | Male | 18 | House of Praetor | Werewolf | New Blood |Current form: Human | Location : Unknown ( somewhere in the forest ) | Mentions : Kade Grace

Isaac started to become a bit paranoid. He felt as if someone was watching him, something erie. He looked in all directions, searching for what could cause this emotion that has raised his awareness level to the max. The sudden noise of leaves crunching beneath the weight of someone or something had inturupted Isaac's mini paranoia attack. He turned to the direction of the noise not seeing anything at first. Somethings here... I know it. he thought as he felt himself being circled, as if he were prey for a much larger predator.

He continued to turn around, searching for more noises in order to find out what was watching him. He glanced back at the original spot he heard the first crunch of leaves. With a quick glance he didn't see much but a hazy blur due to turning so fast, but then he turned slowly back around to see a wolf. That's not an ordinary wolf. he thought as the color in his face drained to a faint white. It was definitely much larger than a wolf, but for some reason he was a bit fascinated by the creature that stood before him. He was actually more curious now than he was scared of the abnormal wolf. He slowly went down to a crouching position, wanting to see it eye to eye.

He was doing what he thought was right, since he did study wolves.Shoot! Where had all my equipment gone? How am I going to capture this? he thought a bit sadden that he didn't have his equipment to document this beautiful moment. He then forgot about the equipment as he returned his thoughts onto the wolf. He knew he had to let himself relax, to make the wolf realize he wasn't a threat. So if he was doing it correctly, the wolf would greet him and know he wasn't a threat. So he stayed in a crouched position, hoping this magnificent creature would open up to him.

Ezekiel Santiago| Male | 21 years| House Valencia Boss| Vampire| Mentions; Viktor, Ava, and Deonday {Directly} | Location: His House

The sound of barking and voices calling from the door that had caught his attention first; followed by the banging on his door and nails on his living room window. It seemed extremely loud and with all that racket it seemed like a door or glass would break in time, so he silently folded his wing up over the couch to press against his back and did the same with the other one. He just wanted a little peace and quiet, but it was the sound of another voice now that dragged him back to the present and made him peek over the edge of the couch with narrowed eyes, hoping that they reflected silver instead of red. This was obnoxious, all this noise and banging when his poor window wasn’t even locked and he was still in his boxers. Giving a low grumbling huff, he slipped off the couch in a crouched manner and slipped back to his room and shut the door with a huffing laughing; let’s see them find him now, the only one too know where his room was would be Viktor. Ava would know the rest of the house though, and Deonday had never been inside. SO he would be fine too sulk here as he started to get dressed for the day, pulling on a grey and black crop top and a set of shorts before sitting down crossed leg on his floor and listening to the noise back in his living room…where he had left his cross…Damn it! He bared his teeth a bit and scooted so that his back was pressed against the bedroom door as he stared at the heavily curtained bedroom window with narrowed eyes.

Artemis Reeves || 18 || Werewolf Hunter {||} At the Inn with the other Hunters - Arge/Conner/(Aaeson?)

Artemis hadn't bothered to bundle herself up for the weather. She wore a light jacket, a pair of gloves, and a very old scarf around her neck as she plodded through the deep snow and pushed her way toward the door of the inn her and the other Hunters were taking up refuge in - for now. She was definitely a solo Hunter, contrary to the near-sacred and religious beliefs of her kin. Artemis reached for the doorknob to the inn room and gripped it, turning it open with an eerie silence if anyone had been keeping watch of her. She opened the door, which would've been just as silent, had the door not been old and needing greased from its own hinges being frosted over. She entered the room with the door shrieking its protest, and she nearly flinched in reaction to the sound. Artemis muttered a greeting, since her entrance had been so obviously botched. The werewolf looked like a normal person, a normal 18-year-old to be specific. Or, that was how she looked - which in itself was sometimes startling to others, as she had the skill of an experienced Hunter - which, technically she was...she just didn't look like it.

As her grey-white eyes swept over the other Hunters in the room, her gaze lingering once on each, she muttered through half closed lips "So, are those bastards joining us yet or not?" Her voice could easily be recognized as native to the area (not just Vancour city, but the area in general XD) with a hint of a slight rasp, signaling its lack of use. Her light colored eyes made it hard for people to stare at her for very long, as even though she liked to hide her strange presence, her eyes were rather intimidating, resembling tiny moons with dark holes in the middle of them. Besides the haunting colors and eerie resemblance to moons with black holes looming in them, Artemis' eyes always held a dim light, similarly to if she was only mildly interested in whatever you were saying, this gives her a look of disinterest which usually gives her a bit of an upper hand when dealing with people she doesn't like.

(so yeah i ran out of motivation like halfway through the last paragraph. Im sorry guys. I went from normal to all of a sudden just not caring about what's happening around me. Im just going to go to bed early i think).

(let's post this in the CORRECT thread now.)

Michelle Rye | 25 | Female | Human | Location: Her Bookstore | Mentions: Viktor (aka big freakin woof), Deonday, Ava

Walking the streets always gave Michelle an excuse to people watch. Of course, because she rarely ventured away from the bookstore during the day, there typically weren’t many people out an about. Most people at night didn’t care much about anything, so she wasn’t overly concerned when someone raced past on a motorcycle, clearly going well over the speed limit. This person had passed right as Michelle had stepped out of the store. It reminded her of something ELSE she had seen right around the time she was flipping the sign earlier. The wolf, and it had only been for a brief moment, but she knew what she had seen. Due to being trained to be a hunter by her father before cutting her ties with all hunters, Michelle knew a werewolf when she saw one. Was said werewolf stupid? These thoughts occupied Michelle’s mind as she made her way to the convenience store. But, Michelle never made it to the convenience store. She stopped a few feet away from it, lost in thought. If hunters made their kills, they likely are trying to hold a meeting with the house leaders… she thought, a probable bad idea popping into her head. Michelle was considering crashing the meeting. What sealed the idea was seeing Deonday, someone she recognized. He sometimes stopped in the bookstore to pick some books up for someone. He was also someone Michelle suspected of being a Vampire, not that she had ever been able to confirm or deny said suspicion. He seemed focused on his task at hand, and she figured he wouldn’t notice her following.

All the same, Michelle kept her distance. Staying at least a block behind as she tailed Deonday. She hoped the man would be heading for wherever the leader of the Valencia House was. She didn’t know who was in-charge and she really hoped they weren’t hungry. Yes, she had been trained as a hunter and yes she had a blessed knife in her bag, but it had been a long time and Michelle’s skills were quite rusty. Michelle was still a block away when she saw Deonday approaching a house. This must be it, she thought watching cautiously. From what she could observe, the werewolf she had seen before was by the window someone who appeared to be human like herself, and Deonday was knocking on the door.

Now that she was here, Michelle probably couldn’t turn back, and she hadn’t thought this far ahead. She could always say something, but then again she wasn’t sure how they’d react. So, obviously the first words out of her mouth had to be cohsen wisely. With this thought in mind, Michelle began to speak as she reached the point where the three outside were in earshot. “Well, well, well, what have we got here? A breaking-and-entering party?”

[ Viktor Kovalenko ]
Male ❇ 23 ❇ Werewolf ❇ House Praetor ❇ Underboss
Location - Ezekiel's House ❇ Mentions: Ava, Ezekiel, Deonday, Michelle

The roar of an engine dragged Viktor’s attention away from the window, momentarily distracted as the unmistakable rumble of a motorcycle drew ever closer. He crept back to the front of the house, head poking around the corner only a second or so after the bike pulled into the driveway. Her scent told him who she was even before Ava removed her helmet. Her company wasn’t unwelcome even if he’d hoped to catch Ezekiel alone before the big meeting. Viktor watched silently as she moved toward the front door. Perhaps Ava would have better luck. Ezekiel wouldn't ignore the girl he practically considered his own child. As she called out his name and knocked, receiving no answer just as he had, Viktor stood corrected.

He whined softly to alert her of his presence, hopefully without frightening her, and moved out into the open so she could see him better. His tail swayed from side to side in a friendly wag much like a dog’s would to further assure he wasn’t a threat. Viktor didn’t know Ava very well, but she was important to Ezekiel so he made it a priority to treat her kindly on the few occasions they did meet. The wagging abruptly stopped and his entire body stiffened when a new scent drifted toward him on the breeze. Vampire. Not just any vampire either. Deonday Bannister. Viktor didn’t share the other werewolves hatred of vampires. It was pointless in his opinion, and perhaps it was easier for him to see both House’s perspectives when he wasn’t born a wolf. He’d learned to get on well enough with the vampires, even the ones who disliked him. This one though…

His lip curled slightly as Deonday came into sight, resisting the urge to growl as the man glanced between him and Ava before returning to the front of the house. The knocking and yelling for Ezekiel to answer the door only proved to further agitate him and Viktor let out a single irritable bark in warning. A suggestion for the vampire to shut the hell up before he bit his throat out that didn’t need a translation. Viktor slunk back to the window, determined to ignore him for now as he figured out how to get inside. Hopefully his warning would be enough of a clue that Deonday should NOT break down the door unless he wanted an angry werewolf chewing one of his legs off.

His face creased into a scowl once he realized Ezekiel didn’t appear to be on the couch any longer. Thought he could hide from him did he? ’Think again Eze.’ After Deonday’s stunt Viktor thought better of shattering the window. Ezekiel would kick his furry ass if he damaged anything and he wasn’t looking forward to a pawful of glass either. Viktor had automatically assumed all of the windows would be locked considering the door was sealed shut, but it might be best to double check before doing anything drastic. He placed the pads of his front paws against the window panes and pushed upward, a little triumphant yip escaping him as it opened with ease. Long black claws worked carefully to pop out the screen without slashing it only seconds later and they finally had a clear entryway.

Viktor turned to look at Ava expectantly. He would be too big to fit through, but she was just the right size. ’Go through window. Unlock door. Let me in please?’ He asked politely, sending mental images her way to help get his point across. He remembered a bit late Ava wasn’t a werewolf and wouldn’t be able to receive them. Ears pressing back against his skull in mild embarrassment, he shifted down to a four-legged form again before sprinting over to Ava and nudging her closer to the window with an encouraging woof, hoping she would get the picture before bounding back to the front porch. He eyed Deonday with clear disgust as he settled on his hindquarters beside the vampire to await Ava’s re-appearance, but otherwise managed to curb any open hostility. When a new, unfamiliar voice reached his ears Viktor turned his head and the front half of his body slowly to face Michelle in a clearly aggravated motion, his eyes unfriendly. Why was everyone and their mother showing up at Ezekiel's tonight?

◙ ◙ ◙ ◙ ◙ ◙

[ Arvia Jäger ]
Female ❇ 27 ❇ Vampire ❇ House Valencia ❇ Capo
Location - Apartment Complex ❇ Mentions - Grendile, Ezekiel

For once in her life Arvia wasn’t wasted beyond belief. Too much had happened recently to risk incapacitating herself for even a minute. Two vampires were freshly murdered and the majority of House Valencia’s ranks had been depleted to dangerous numbers. As hard as it was to resist the burning liquor she so desperately craved Arvia knew she had to. Some things were more important than satisfying her own hedonistic pleasures. This brief abstinence from alcohol was perhaps somewhat of a wake-up call. It was so easy to forget humans weren’t the only species that could be overtaken by addiction. She’d allowed this desire to consume her for far too long.

The pale haired woman had taken to pacing for the past hour or so. Uncertain how to handle news of the meeting. Ezekiel had holed himself up in his house again and wouldn’t answer any messages. That left Arvia and her fellow capo Grendile to handle business in his absence. Dealing with this past week definitely left Arvia grateful for Grendile’s level head and professionalism. She wasn’t sure she could have managed without him. Now they had perhaps the most important decision of all to make. Should they attend the meeting? Did they insist Ezekiel go or remain safely at home? Would both herself and Grendile show up or should one of them remain behind in case this was meant to be an execution rather than a meeting to encourage peace?

She didn’t get to consider these questions much further before a knock at the door had her pausing mid-step beside the sliding glass doors that led out to the porch. Arvia’s suite was on the apartment complex’s second floor, but still came with a built in patio. Often she could be found lounging out on it with a drink in hand. Perhaps entertaining a friend or two. Such frivolity couldn’t even be contemplated anymore considering current circumstances. Arvia swiftly made her way over to the door, peering through the viewing hole. If it was just a neighbor or one of her human associates she might be more inclined to ignore them, but upon finding it was Grendile waiting for her she unlocked the door and opened it for him.

Leathery white wings folded tightly against her back to hide them from view in case there were any people lingering in the hall as she beckoned him inside. Once Grendile had stepped inside she shut and re-locked the door, her wings unfurling once more. “Hey,” she greeted him with a weak smile. “Any word from Ezekiel yet, or are we handling this one on our own?”

◙ ◙ ◙ ◙ ◙ ◙

[ Conner O’Neal]
Male ❇ 24 ❇ Human ❇ Hunter
Location - Local Inn ❇ Mentions - Argento, Artemis

Conner had never been much of a conversationalist, even throughout childhood proving quiet and introverted. Years of hunter training taught him to be assertive and confident in his abilities, and while it had done wonders for his own sense of self-worth, his penchant for solitude hadn’t changed one bit. His reaction to neither being greeted as he entered the room or immediately forced into meaningless small talk had initially been gratitude. He and Argento barely knew each other. They weren't friends. If there were no further plans to discuss before the Houses arrived they had no need for idle chat.

He occupied himself scrolling through Facebook on his phone. He rarely used the website anymore, but felt a rather insistent need to check up on family members or old friends every now and then without actually calling them. Social media offered a platform in which he could at least get a general feel for how someone was faring. The silence didn’t last however. Argento just had to ruin it. Dark blue eyes rose from the screen in his hand to stare across the room at the building’s, thus far, only other occupant. His gaze was icy and expressionless, but that was nothing new and shouldn’t be taken personally.

“Make it clear biting humans to increase their population will result in the execution of the perpetrator with extreme prejudice as well as anyone who aided the crime.” With so few vampires and werewolves left in the city, at least compared to the census record from a few years ago, their leaders were bond to get desperate. Collecting humans to turn would be the easiest and quickest option for re-population even if their children had an increased growth rate compared to humans. “The remainder of their species likely aren't compatible enough for a mass breeding project to take place. On the off chance that they do...I suppose we’ll need to watch them very closely from here on out."

Conner made the decision to shut off his phone now that potentially important details were being considered, shoving it into the pocket of his jacket which hung off the back of the chair he was currently seated in. He didn’t get to say much else before the shriek of the door opening indicated a newcomer and Conner glanced toward Artemis as she stepped inside. He didn’t bother hiding the disdain crossing his face as the wolf-hunter entered the room. “You’re late,” he replied flatly. “But no, they aren’t here yet.”

Kade Grace || Female || 27 years || Werewolf - Boss (would she be the Godmother?) || Wolf form, then human || Location: Unknown || Mentions: Issac

Kade paused a few feet away from the newly-turned werewolf. He would be cold, she knew; she had to get him to trust her and get him inside quickly. For just a moment, her golden wolf-eyes looked into his, and then she shifted, bones cracking as they rearranged and changed sizes and shapes. Her eyes were the same, though, no matter what form she was in, and she kept eye contact. The small bundle of clothes that had been tied to her leg was now around her ankle, so she slipped on the pants and shirt, clearly not caring about modesty.

"I'm sorry, young one," she said, "but it looks like I've got a lot of explaining to do, and little time to do it in. You're a werewolf, and have become part of the family - my family. A pack, perhaps, but we operate more like a mafia - a mafia of which I am the boss. I cam explain more of this later, but we need to get you somewhere warm first, or you will freeze to death." Kade said all of this with a slight tone of apology, but her golden eyes were hard as steel. "You may refer to me as 'Miss Grace' or 'ma'am'. What's your name?"

---x---

Ava Cassida || Female || 19 years || Allied with the Valencia House (human) || Location: Ezekiel's house || Mentions: Ezekiel, Viktor, Deonday, Michelle

Ava laughed and scratched Viktor's head, behind his ears, when he nudged her toward the now-open window, then she walked over to it. She was sure she could get in; she was stronger than she looked and had the upper body strength to pull herself up. Then another human distracted her, someone she wasn't sure if she knew. "Our friend has locked himself inside," she explained. "We're not breaking into the house to steal anything. Please don't call the police."

On that note, she gripped the windowsill and pulled herself up and over, having to roll when she hit the floor. "Ez, I just came in through your window. Don't kill me, please," she called into the house. "You've got stuff to do today. I can't just let you stay here and wallow in misery." Ava padded over and unlocked the door, then went back to the window. "Vik, the door's unlocked now," she told the werewolf, then closed and locked the window.

"You really should consider locking your windows the next time you want to be left alone!" she called, to Ezekiel, then went to the bathroom for syringes. She kept some here, because she knew that her adoptive father probably need at least some blood. She really didn't need to get a papercut and him try to kill her for her blood. With an expert hand, she prepared her arm and inserted the needle into her elbow, and waited while a bag filled. It was so odd to watch. The bag wasn't big - perhaps two pints - and as soon as it was done, she removed the needle and cleaned it with alcohol before throwing it away, sealing the bag, and putting a band-aid over the tiny insertion point on her arm. It would be good for whenever he needed it.

Isaac Lopez | Male | 18 | Praetor - New Blood | Current Form : Human | Location : Misty Forest | Mentions : Kade Grace

He watched the wolf carefully, hoping it would come closer. Though instead of it coming closer it did something far more bizarre. It actually became something else. He heard the bones crack, which made him cringe a bit as he watched. Ouch... That must really hurt... Sounds like it does. he thought as he continued to watch it form. When it finally shifted, it became into a female, a naked one to be exact." Ah! " he studdered as he averted his gaze from the naked girl.

Once he knew she was dress, he turned back to the girl, he felt his face turn with a tint of pink due to the cold but mainly because of what had just happened. He listened to girl as she explained that "he" was a werewolf." I'm a werewolf???!" he said in disbelief. He then stood up from his crouch. As he stared at her, dumbfounded by what she just said. Now she was saying he needed to go somewhere warm.

He gave a silent nod, just going along with what she said." My name is Isaac Lopez, ma'am." he said softly. He looked up at her, his eyes obiously showing curiosity yet confusion. He couldn't believe he was a werewolf. He adored wolves and studied them for basically a living, but now he "actually" was one?? He continued to watch her, wanting to know more and more. Which was normal for Isaac, since he was like a sponge, only wanting to absorb more and more, in this case "Knowledge".
