Domino frolicked across the grassy green fields. "Mom look how fast I can run!" Domino whinnied to his mother.
"Great!" Domino's mother whinnied back.
Domino stopped in his tracks, for the leader of Domino's herd announced that there is a better field just over the mountain tops. Domino reared up in joy. " Come mother! We must get there!" Domino galloped off.
"Coming!" Domino's mother trotted off after her excited little foal. Domino couldn't slow down, for he was far to excited to slow down. " Slow down Domino!" Domino's mother yelled out.
"But mother I need to get over the mountain tops, Just like Chief D'oro said!" Domino replied. Domino raced off with his mother trailing behind.
The group had made it over the mountains and Domino reared with joy. "Chief, Chief!" Domino said in excitement "Chief is this going to be our new home?" Domino exclaimed not thinking of the consequences.
"Domino I know you would like to have a place were you could go to sleep and wake up every morning in the same place, but the fact is-" the Chief cut himself off as he could see Domino's mother staring at him from across the field.
"What is it Chief?" Domino questioned.
"Nothing." the Chief answered.
"Domino!" Domino's mother called out "Never run off like that again!"
"Yes mother," Domino sulked.
"Now go graze. And stay where I can see you!" Domino's mother gave him a stern look.
"Yes mother," Domino repeated.

Allo's legs ached as her herd ascended the rocky path up the mountain. They've been walking for such a long time, on top of that, without water for almost a week. She looked towards her twin, Torvo, who held his head high while padding alongside their father. Unfortunately, they lost their mother when she gave birth to two foals at once.
The leader, Tyr, called to his herd to let them know that a fresh field was in sight. Excitement sparked in the herd and they began to gallop.
"Torvo!" Allo called out to her twin who left her behind in a flash. "Whatever."
Allo bumped into many horses before finally reaching the field. But something was wrong.
Tyr paused the herd as they realized a different herd was already occupying the field. Snorting, he trotted over to a particular stallion, waving his tail to signal the herd to stay where they were.
"What is he doing?" Allo asked Torvo once he found him.
"I'm not sure," Torvo responded. "I think he's going to talk to the other herd's leader."
Allo wasn't too fond of the thought. They ran into many territorial herds who were greedy and attacked anyone who tried to graze in their fields. Hopefully this herd was a little more flexible with eating alongside a foreign horse.
Something caught Allo's eye. From the far right, she saw a foal around her age grazing alone. Allo dumbly began to approach her until Torvo nipped her haunches to stop her.
"What are you doing, stupid!" Torvo scolded Allo.
Allo's ears were pinned to the back of her head. "that foal over there looks friendly... So I just thought--"
"Well don't do it again," Torvo interrupted, making Allo shrink away from him.

Domino looked up from his grazing spot to see a foal toting over to him. Domino whined although he new he wasn't supposed to communicate with the other herds. Domino reared in joy, as the excitement of other foals wanting to play with him was very fulfilling. "Hey!" Domino shouted to the other foal. The foal looked at him but for some reason turned back to some other foal calling him back. Domino was petrified, "I thought he wanted to play with me," he thought. When Domino turned his head to look for his mother he saw that she was trotting over to him, and were she was standing stood another stallion with Chief D'oro. Domino kept looking at what was happening with Chief D'oro and the other stallion. Domino was surprised when he saw Chief D'oro rear up at the other stallion. "Mom what is he doing?!" Domino exclaimed.
"Domino," Domino's mother sighed "Chief D'oro must protect us and when another leader from another herd comes near our herd-" Domino's mother stopped to sigh again "He must protect us," Domino's mother finished.
"But that dosen't give him any excuse to hurt the stallion!" Domino sounded surprised.
"Domino just keep grazing and let Chief D'oro handle the situation," Domino's mother gave a stern look as to try to scare him.
"Okay mother," Domino replied. Domino took one last look at the two foals and started grazing again.

Allo lowered her head in shame as Torvo continued to scold her. Suddenly, Torvo quit it and fell silent. When Allo looked up, she saw her leader and the other lead stallion rearing up at each other. Uh oh.
Torvo forgot all about Allo and rushed to their father's side as their herd impatiently paced back and forth, but they knew very well that they weren't allowed to interfere.
Allo listened to the shouts of, "Go Tyr! Go Tyr!" The other herd seemed to continue grazing, only because the land was theirs first. She thought it was so stupid. Why couldn't they just graze together? Why did they have to be so territorial? Then Allo remembered something: the friendly foal.
The filly glanced back to where she saw that one foal. Excitement got her all giddy, until she realized that the foal wasn't alone anymore. A mare was accompanying him, and Allo assumed it was his mother.
Allo began to approach the two, unsure if it was a good idea. But then a high shriek broke her stride and she snapped around to see Tyr stagger away from the other stallion. He lost. And he looked hurt.
Tyr limped back to the herd, nodding his head to let them know that this wasn't going to be their feast. The herd was devastated as they were all very hungry. Tyr lashed his tail as the herd followed him back from the way they came.
Allo however had other plans.
She galloped to the other foal, unsure if the mare was friendly or not. "Hey, you!" she whinnied to the colt.

Domino had took his last step to where he was planing to graze when he was interrupted by a colt calling out to him. Domino stared at the colt confused as this was the same colt that had tried to converse with him earlier. "What are they doing?" Domino questioned himself. When Domino's mother noticed that a colt from another herd was approaching Domino, Domino's mother quickly took charge and came dashing over to protect her beloved son. With no hesitation she reared at the young colt. "Mom!" Domino shouted trying to get his mom to back off of the colt.
"Quiet Domino!" Domino's mother shouted back. After this Domino decided to step out from behind his mom and join the colt on the other side of her, "Domino!" Domino's mother sounded furious.
"Mom it's just a colt what can it do to me!" Domino shouted at his mother. Domino's mother looked like she was going to explode but instead lowered her head in sadness.
"Domino-" Domino's mother sound like she was weak, like all of the energy had drained from her. "I- I- when I was little I used to have a brother, a big brother. This big brother wasn't just my brother-" Domino's mother paused in sadness before continuing "He was my BEST friend," Domino's mother exclaimed. "One day we were out on the trail, near a river and-" Domino's mother paused again "And he fell in," she continued. "After that day I promised I would never let that happen to any of my loved ones ever again," Domino's mother dropped to the ground. Domino ambled over to his mother and laid down beside her. Domino rested his head on her neck and licked her mane. Domino gave a quick glance at the colt and then laid his head back down.

Allo was very confused. The colt's mom was about to destroy Allo and here she is in a big mess with her colt who shouted at her now trying to calm her down. She didn't know how to act or what to say, so she just watched.
"Miss," the filly awkwardly began, unsure if it were a good time to speak or not. "I wasn't going to harm your son... I was just looking for somebody to play with." Being young, playing around was very important and Allo still wanted to play with Domino despite of what was going on.
Why were herds so aggressive towards each other. Her father said herds used to graze side by side, so why not now? Did something happen that made them hate each other?
Allo still couldn't grasp the fact that the mare before her had said something that tore her to pieces. She wasn't familiar with grief because her father never mourned their mother's death because he wanted to set a positive figure to his children.
The filly cocked her head side to side, wondering if she should go or not. "Are you okay?" she asked timidly. "Do you want to play with us? That might make you feel better, that always cheers me up."

Domino laid his head down on his mother's pole. As soon as the filly next to him spoke Domino gave a whinny. Domino's mother as well gave a small whinny. After a few seconds, when Domino's mother had the courage to stand again, she gave Domino a little nudge to go play with the young filly. Domino gave her look as to mean "Are you okay?" Domino's mother gave a whinny to tell him, again that it was fine.
Domino looked back at his mother after he had trotted off with the filly. Domino seemed crestfallen . He felt bad for his mother. He never knew his mother had a brother! Why didn't she ever tell him! With all of these thoughts going through his head he didn't know whether to feel mad or sad. Domino stood there still looking at his mother trotting over to Chief D’oro. With so many feelings flowing through him right now he felt like he was going to explode. After spending some time standing there, Domino shook his head and his mane, of which he had grown so far was shaking with him. It looked like Domino had just woken from a dream. Domino stomped his hooves as to make sure this wasn’t a dream. It wasn’t. Domino remembered he was going to play with the filly standing behind him. Domino turned around just in time to hear Chief D’oro make an announcement. Domino Jumped as he was facing his back to the Chief. “Gather 'round!” He yelled to make sure everyone could hear him perfectly. “I have an announcement!” He spoke once again in a blasting tone. “I have decided to let the other herd join us for a graze as this isn’t just our field as it is theirs now too!” Chief D’oro finished. Domino, still frightened but excited that he could make more friends, jumped in a weird way. Domino was so excited in fact that he ran circles around the filly behind him. Domino’s mother, just beside Chief D’oro, looked rather petrified. Her eyes were wide open, her nostrils were flaring, and she was on the edge of her hooves. Domino gave a little giggle but didn’t stop running his laps. He was way too excited to stop.

Allo was super excited when the colt was going to play with her, and then he suddenly bolted without warning. She knew why though, his leader had called for his herd to gather around. She watched as Domino fled away to the gathering, and she did not fail to notice his mother next to the leader looking extremely worrisome. Suddenly, a strong feeling of anxiety overcame her, making her stomach feel as though it were doing flips. Did the mare tell the herd leader about her being here from a different herd? The two lead stallions DID brawl, so what if they decide to hurt her? No. She's a nice mare. She was about to let the colt play with Allo. So what was it about? Curiously, Allo tiptoed over to where everyone was gathering, and she spotted Domino and approached him, hoping no other horse would say anything about her. But it seemed as though nobody noticed her and were too focused on what the stallion had to say anyway. Without a word, she stood by the colt to listen to the leader. Allo was extremely confused though, because just a second ago his head was spinning in confusion, anger, and sadness, and now here he is looking so excited he was running laps. What was going on? Allo stayed in her place and listened to what D'oro had to say, keeping an eye on Domino.

Domino, still running laps around Allo felt very excited about what Chief D'oro had to say. He could see Allo staring at him from the inside of his circles.
Once Domino got somewhat tired and he saw that there were marks in the dirt where he had been running, Domino stopped. He raced to where Allo was, "Can you belive it!" he shouted. Without letting the filly respond Domino continued running his laps but in a bigger circle now. Realizing this was kind of rude Domino trotted back to Allo. Domino lowered his head as to say sorry. After this Domino felt he had done enough and then, once again continued running his circles. Domino probably didn't realize how rude this was but still continued his laps.

Allo watched Domino continue to make his rounds around her. At first she thought he was panicking but he seemed super happy. He surely had mood swings. "Umm," she tried to ask whenever he seemed to able to hear her. "I have no idea what's going on to be honest," she replied. "What happened? What's going on?" The leader must have said something and Allo missed it. Should she be excited too? It didn't make sense. His mother looked so fearful, and here is her son bouncing out of control.

Domino heard all of the questions Allo was asking but was to hyper to answer them. After a little Domino calmed down from his excitement purge and went to answer Allo's questions. Since Domino still wasn't calmed down completely he still answered them quite quickly. "The chief just said that we can graze together! Can you believe it!" Domino answered. "And also did you see my mom spook up there!" Domino laughed like he never did before. He honestly sounded quite crazy.

Allo's ears were pinned to the back of her head as she stood stiff. She began to think that Domino was a maniac. I mean, yes this was amazing news, but why is he acting this way. "What do you mean when your mom spooked up there?" she asked. His mother indeed looked frightened, but why would Domino be excited about that? She turned and saw her herd returning to the area, most of them cautious. She would have jumped for joy, but right now she was concerned of Domino. Was he okay? "What's going on with your mom?" Yeah, she had a breakdown, but why is Domino happy? Did something snap in Domino's brain when he found out about a lost family member, and now he's psychotic? No, he's okay. He's just excited, right?

Domino quickly came to a halt when he heard Allo asking questions. "Of course my mom is okay silly!" Domino said overjoyed. "spooked means to jump at something because you don't know it's coming, but in my moms case she spooked at Cheif D'oro yelling," Domino answered. After this Domino had no more stamina to keep going, so he took a break and hung out with Allo in the center of his newly traced dirt circles for a while.

Allo nodded, finally understanding what was going on. "Ohhh, see I thought your mother told the leader something bad and was nervous when he got everyone's attention." Feeling much more relaxed and a little embarrassed that she overreacted, she glanced at her herd as they trickled into the field. Feeling suddenly bored and the awkward stillness of the atmosphere, Allo suddenly nipped at Domino's mane and playfully leaped out of his circle of hoof-cracks. "I bet you can't catch me!" she squealed, kicking her hind-legs into the air before bolting.

"Oh yeah!" Domino challenged Allo. " it's a race then!" Domino shouted. Domino made a line in the dirt with his hoof to indicate that this was the starting line. Domino lined up at the starting line where Allo was and stomped his hoof in the dirt as to say "it's on!" Domino got ready to race. Alothough Domino had only known Allo for about 10 minutes he was still going to try his best even though he didn't know any of Allos weaknesses or streanghs, nor did he know how fast Allo was.
