Hello again! This thread has to do with my first Interbreeding post: https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429256513
Go check it out, and possibly show your support/Un-support!

Anyways, as I indirectly said in the previous post, I feel as though something with interbreeding should be implemented, whether those consequences be good or bad. I suggested Mutations, as that's something that happens in the real world, but it did not get much liking, as mutations are usually a reward on lioden.

What point I'm really trying to get across is that I feel the need for something with interbreeding to happen. This is probably a little annoying to see something having to do with this pop up once again, but I'd really love it if anyone took time to make sugestions!

Interbreeding between animals and humans has always fascinated me (that sounds a little creepy oh gosh), and i'be wondered what would happen if something like that were added to Lioden!

Suggestions!:
~Miscarriage (Hobbit #20994)
~Stillborn (Hobbit #20994)
~Reduced Stats (Seiden πŸ‘‘ #31516)

Thanks for your time, once again, everyone. I really appreciate that you took time out of your day/night to read this silly little post. Sorry for the inconvenience.

HI! I actually just posted on your other thread for this with some suggestions about penalties for inbreeding. I don't know if you saw it but I'll repost it here just to make sure you see it. :)

Miscarriage

On the second day of pregnancy the player would receive a notification saying that their lioness (who was bred with a father, brother, ect.) has suffered a miscarriage. The penalties of a miscarriage would be that and that her mood drops to 40% or below. In addition to this every miscarriage lowers a lioness's fertility by 10%

Stillbirths

For stillbirths the player will get a notification with the same title as the one they would get when a lioness has given birth normally, however once the message is open it would reveal that one or more of the cubs were stillborn. There would be slightly more variety in the penalties. If only 1 cub is stillborn the lioness's mood drops to 50%. If multiple cubs die but not all of them it drops to 40%. If all the cubs in the litter are born dead the lioness's mood drops to 20%. The second penalty would be that the lioness's cooldown would be twice as long due to recovering from such a trauma.

In Conclusion...

The only reason for inbreeding would be to maintain a certain look in your lions through the generations (ex. breeding a king with say, Onyx Vit in slot 2 to his daughter with the same marking in the same slot to get a cub with that marking/slot combination as well), but by that time it wouldn't really be worth the risk. It also might serve to balance out the LD economy with the constant need for fresh bloodlines.

Yes, I saw it, and I absolutely loved the ideas! That is why I created this thread! I have to say, these ideas are genius!

I personally don't think that it needs to be a hugely horrible thing, to where you'd need to avoid breeding a father to a daughter or a brother to a sister, I do agree with the possibility of stillbirth and all I just don't thing it should happen nearly every time.

I get what you're saying Fonz and maybe the rate of success could be a little higher. But, as fun and silly as this game is I feel that there is still some realism in it. Inbreeding can seriously damage a population; variety truly is the spice of life and without out it young can be born not just with outward mutations, but autoimmune disorders, genetic disorders, and all sorts of other invisible nasty stuff. And a good portion of babies conceived between close relatives don't make it to full term or die shortly after.

So even if the death rate is lower I still feel that it should be a significant amount; a 60:40 ratio at the least.

I'd suggest a reduction of stats for inbred cubs : the more inbred they are, the lower their stats.
As inbred individuals are supposed to be weaker and have some problems...

Eh, I don't think I can support such a high ratio, sorry.
