:: The Strength of the Pack

It is the time of Vetur, meaning breeding season has begun.

Prey: Low | Average | High

Hunters: Low | Average | High

________________________________________________

:: Seasons

Nýtt - It is the time of year when new growth flourishes, and with it come the litters of pups that are brought into the world. The rain showers that occur within the land commonly appear in this interval. Hunters are seen less, if at all, which make rearing offspring easier.
Sumar - This is the time where the climate reaches its highest peak, coming to read roughly at eighty five degrees Fahrenheit. Most wolves prefer to hunt for food at nightfall and rest throughout the day in this heated season.
Haust - Conditions tend to cool down, preparing to enter the phase of Vetur. Grasses start to lose their brilliant hues, and leaves begin to detach themselves from the branches of trees and shrubs. Common prey, such as deer, usually come together at this point, making many opportunities to snag a meal.
Vetur - Being the coldest part of the year, it isn't uncommon for temperatures to get as low as ten degrees Fahrenheit. It's rather harsh weather, but brings with it weak prey animals suffering from poor nutrition. Breeding season occurs at this point.

________________________________________________

:: Plot

With hunters driving packs closer to the Canadian border, ranks have managed to break up, splitting the packs and causing their members to spread out over the land. Without a pack, lone wolves stand no chance of taking down a fully grown deer; starvation becomes reality at this point. The various lupins that scatter the terrain finally come to the conclusion that they won't make it long without fellow brethren to stand at their side. Will wolves from rivaling packs be able to cooperate and become civil, or will their foundation be shattered by their pasts?

The overcast sky set an ominous feeling across the terrain; thick, gray clouds engulfed the sun's brilliant rays entirely, making for a rather dull environment despite the fact it was practically midday. The few birds that still lingered twittered in a hushed pitch, as if they were whispering among themselves. I don't blame them, Alusia thought inwardly, her mind harshly recalling the loud, ear splitting explosions that always occurred when the up-walkers were near. It was those noises - those creatures - that caused her pack to split up. She'd been wandering the land in search of any remaining members for several days now, but was slowly beginning to give up hope...

Her carefully placed paw pads carried her to the gnarled roots of an aged Oak tree, a location she deemed safe to rest at. Although the serene environs were much appreciated after hectic travelling, the damsel couldn't find complete tranquility with the images that toyed with her. Would the others be looking for me? Why haven't I found anyone? Unless... No! She had to remain optimistic!

With an apprehensive demeanor and a tensed musculature, Alusia scanned the general area for either a sign of any familiar lupine, or even the possibility of a hunter. Her erect, triangular ears stood attentively, twitching when she picked up on a peculiar sound; she listened, she waited...

The grey dotted canine chuckled happily at one of his own jokes. Sad, to be honest. "I'm great." He barked to himself, leaning against a tree to 'pat' himself on the back with it.

He came to a hard stop when he spotted.. something, no, Someone in the distance. A lonely feminine, it appeared. It was the first wolf he'd really come into contact with for a very long time. "Hey! You alone?" He asked, curiosity and excitement coursing through his veins as he raced toward her, ears lying flat against his skull.
"Yo! I'm Vox. God, it's been so long since I've seen another wolf!" He rambled, a smirk plastered onto his visage. "What's your name?" "Where do you even come from? Wow!" On, and on, and on, and on.
Not the most appropriate way to start conversations but Vox was not the most appropriate person.

((Mind if I pop in with my starting post? I probably won't be on around the middle of the day, but I might jump in sometimes if I'm able. Feel free to skip me if I don't show.))

Atrox sat on her haunches, sniffing the air with frustration. Well, this was just fantastic. Not being alone; she was fine with that. The silence was comforting, in a way. But, acerbic she-wolf as she was, she wasn't used to living by herself. Wasn't used to hunting without another to flank her. Sure, she would kill them if she had to, but even she knew strength was in numbers. The thought of relying on another for survival annoyed her, so she forgot about it for a bit.

A few hours of walking passed, following faint scent after faint scent on the breeze. A particular one interested her, like wet stones and earth. Wolf. Atrox sighed, whether in relief or exasperation, glancing to the north. These wolves needed a strong one to lead them, she supposed. (One of many far more arrogant thoughts that crossed her mind.) Like a mother in search of her wandering pups, Atrox padded off with a scowl.

Ziitka ran. The looming grey clouds cast an eerie effect, but Ziitka ran. He never looked back until he heard a small bird fly from it's branch in a tree with no leaf, causing him to jump. He followed in pursuit, and found him looking straight at another wolf, and sighing. "Who the..." He yipped.
But besides his exterior rough design, Ziitka was astounded that he found others! The normally distanced wolf was now leaping around the two wolves, chuckling in a dark voice, hoarse and raspy.

(I'm bad at introducing meh characters, so forgive me.)

〈〈 vilder▵location unknown▵mentions: all, indirectly 〉〉

→ Vilder inhaled deeply, nose shoved into a small hollow beneath a log. The scent was old. Rat, and the faint odor of weasel. Seems another hunter had gotten there first. He huffed, pulling his snout from the dirt and shaking loose leaf litter from his cheeks. His belly ached from hunger. The skinny lemming he managed to catch a few days prior couldn't fuel him much longer. He was no good at hunting small things.
→ He'd scented strange wolves in the weeks and months before. None of them smelled of his family, so he made no effort to assimilate. However, he tailed them, licking up blood from their hunts when he could, but keeping a very safe distance. He longed desperately to join others, to lay among them at night, to feel community and family again. But, as said, they were strangers. They weren't family.
→ As he lay down to lick his paws, his ears detected a sudden burst of noise in the distance. If he wasn't mistaken, it was the guttural voice of a wolf, and gods was it loud. The scarce winter birds silenced themselves at the commotion. Vilder snorted, his breath hanging in the cold air.

Startled by an unfamiliar voice, Alusia sprang nimbly to her feet, aiming we body towards the source of sound. It was a male of darker fur complexions, his pelt accented with shades of lighter cream. "Oh, hello," she murmured, slightly disappointed that this masculine wolf wasn't one of her own packmates... Nevertheless, he was a friendly face and she needed to make the most of this situation! "My name is Alusia; I've been traveling north for several days after the hunters split up my pack..." her voice trailed off, but the dame quickly composed herself and continued, "I haven't seen any other wolves until now - wait, I'm not on another pack's terrain, am I?" The worry was evident in her vocals, her ears flattening rearward to rest atop her finely-tapered skull.

All of a sudden, a crashing sound caught Alusia's attention; a secondary wolf, another male, burst into the open, quickly joining the duo with a gleeful bounce to his step. "Hi, there," she greeted, her eyes revealing her amusement with the giddy male. Her concern with this being claimed land overwhelmed her once more, her ember eyes flicking between the pair before her uncertainly.

(I was giving Korea time to respond but I guess they aren't wanting to participate.)

((Sorry, I was doing so many rps and forgot about this))

Jun / Male / 3.9 Years / Location: Northern field / Mentions: Open

Jun cut of the path of the rabbit and killed it with a quick nip on it's neck. He pricked his ears at a loud growl, another wolf was approaching him, eyeing his prey. "Back off! It's mine!" Jun snarled right away, he flattened his to his head backwards and pulled his back his chops to show a row of perfect, long and sharp teeth. When the wolf didn't move back, Jun feinted a lunge at it's right leg and watched it jump back in surprise, he snarled again and stood infront of the rabbit carcass as if protecting it.

And it's all good, Korea!)
