Please don't post.

A look at all the colors/markings, and how they are related genetically.

Bases

These are written because the individual flyrets will have individual colors, they're not exact shades. This is a guide.

Common
>Brown
>Dark Red
>Light Brown
>Red
>Rich brown
>Shaded Brown
>Tan

Uncommon
>Black
>Cream
>Dark Cream
>Fawn
>Silver

Rare
>Shaded red
>Diluted black (appears purple)
>Magma
>Dusk

What other colors should I create?

Markings

Again this is a guide only, as markings are individually drawn.

Common
>No markings.
Doesn't mean that the Flyret might have hidden genes for markings!
>Shoulder/back covering
Normally in a darker color than the base.
>Weak Spotting (on shoulders/knees only)
Majority of the time, is on a patch of light fur.
>Leg spotting
Can be darker or lighter.
>Irish
White or cream color, creates collar around the neck and stockings.
>Dorsal Line
Creates a dark colored line that goes from covering the muzzle, down the back and along the wings. Will color one feather on the wings and the center feather in the tail feathers.
>Seal Points
A dark gray that colors the paws, face, and wings, blending out into the original base color.

Uncommon
>Wisps
Consists of wispy stripes, almost, that start at the stockings and then dissolve out into the fur.
>Hollow Spots
Akin to leopard markings. Covers all of body except for undersides.
>Heavy Spotting
Solid spots cover back/shoulders
>Shaded brown leggings
Created from a Shaded Brown x Leggings marking
>Webbed Stripes
Odd stripes that go on the body and back legs, that grow thicker at the base and connect on the back.

Rare
>

Legendary
>Shaded Brown Markings
Hard to reproduce, but is a modifying marking- meaning that its offspring will have modified versions of the other parent's markings. Consists of brown blended on the head, back, wings, feathers, and legs.

Wing Markings

Wing markings are independent of body markings most of the time, but sometimes body markings may go over wings as well.

Common
>No markings.
It is common for wings to be of a solid color.
>Wing Tips
Tips the feathers with a different color, usually related to body markings.

Uncommon
>Wing Spotting
Stripes go up and down the feathers in a darker color.
>Uneven Feather Coloring
Feathers are solid colored, but in different colors, up to three.

Rare
>Shaded Wings
Feathers are two colors, with the darker (usually black) at the beginning and ends and a brighter color starting from the center and blending out.
>Green/Yellow Wings
Both highly uncommon colors for wings, feathers start with green and blend out to yellow.

Eyes

Eye colors can range greatly, some pairings can even create new colors.

Common
>Amber/Gold
>Hazel
>Yellow

Uncommon
>Black
>Blue-Gray
>Green

Rare
>Red

Mutations / Other Traits

It could be argued that all different traits in animals are just mutations that were bred into the bloodline, so a majority of these mutations are, in fact, breedable! The genetic strength and how much it passes on just may vary, but we don't have much data yet.

Overgrown Feathers

Our only existing specimen:
femaledesign10_by_datcrazylola-db0im7v.p
This mutation came from the use of Artificial Insemination and has yet to be bred, so the question of how passable it may be is unanswered.

Silky Mane

Existing specimen:
maledesign14_by_datcrazylola-db2dof4.png
This mutation was discovered in a wild male, so it's safe to assume that it's passed on quite easily, although it is unknown if females can have this mutation.
