Hello! I'd like to know if anybody at all would be interested in my art - atm I have to focus on my final exams, but in the summer I might take some commissions. The question is, how much do you think my work is worth and if someone'd ask for a commission at all. I'd also take some advices - I've recently bought a Wacom Intuos A5 Wide Special Edition, but still taking my time to learn how to use it at all. I don't really know Photoshop and Corel Painter either, the only program I've used before was Gimp. If anybody, who's more experienced than me feels like they could share a few things with me, please do. I have an idea which I want to ask you guys about. I'm taking commissions now, but I was wondering if anybody would be interested in cosplay commissions. I've learnt to become a fashion designer for four years now and know quite a bit about clothes. I could draw detailed plans for clothes, patterns which would be actually wearable for a con for example. I could draw OC cosplays and already existing ones. Would anyone be interested in that? Here are the brand new art I've just finished - my very first actual digital art. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 11/05/17 @ 11:56:51 by Kitsu (#99944) |

Wow you're AMAZING!!! For a fullbody I'd say 10 GB at least (but I'm not good at pricing)! and I love both, your traditional as well as your digital artworks! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thank you very much! I'm not good at pricing either. Did you mean a full color or a sketch? Also I guess I should try and practice digital painting a little bit more... :D 0 players like this post! Like? |

heyo!! (: I feel you have really great potential!! Your horses and lions especially look very promising. Your pricing would be entirely dependent on the quality of the lineart and color too, however, so it's kind of hard to make an estimate just based on the sketches. A lot of online customers are most interested in getting art of their characters, and so I would try to experiment with characterization and expressions, and also develop a style that is unique to you and makes your art more special and valuable. You've got a great start on anatomy, but I would try deviating a little from realism and try experimenting with your art maybe! : D but I may just be a lil biased, considering my own work is pretty stylized ha. But good luck! You've got great potential. (: 0 players like this post! Like? |

Wow, thank you very much! I didn't feel like I can experiment with any art styles until I didn't learn anatomy on a certain level. I'm not very sure where to start though :D 0 players like this post! Like? |

oh no you're totally right! But I do think you have enough of a grasp on anatomy to begin the first stages of developing a unique style. An artists style is kind of its own beast -- it's hard to control, but you can nudge it in the right direction with lots and lots of experimentation! Play with shapes especially, proportions, as well as conveying emotions. One way that I developed my style over the years was by looking at the work of other artists -- subconsciously, I started to incorporate little, subtle tidbits of their style into my own, until it became something totally new and unique to me. Being inspired by other artists is absolutely ok and healthy, just as long as you can see the line between inspired and copied. So overall, just lots of practice, experimentation, and looking at other art ! It's also especially helpful to compare different techniques to see what works for you -- watching speedpaints or walkthroughs is a great start! Good luck! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thank you very much again! I guess it'll be a long way and hard work. I'm going to study animation the next few years, hopefully that'll inspire me. 0 players like this post! Like? |
