Hello, Im a new artist, ive been practicing for a year now, and I do the art by looking at steps. So, my question is......I want to become a better artist, meaning I'd like to know how you advanced to being better and just tips and techniques. Use your imagination! Experiment! Right now it sounds like you follow a lot of tutorials, try drawing something weird and funny to loosen yourself up, and get your ideas flowing. A dragon with a scarf. A cat with a bird best friend. A demon girl with high-heels. Be yourself, most of all! Step-by-step tutorials won't teach you much besides how to approach a drawing, study things from life, draw what you see, draw from pictures on google. Watch anatomy tutorials on YT. And most of all, NEVER STOP DRAWING! Practice, practice, practice, and practice until your hands fall off. Draw every day, even if it's just a smiley face in the corner of your sketchbook, that means you've gotten something done that day.
