Captain

The Captain of the groups is the equivalent of a Leader. They control each cat, and each cat must live under their rules and obey them. They give orders, and can punish cats as well as promote them. Their word is law, and no cat shall disobey them unless they challenge the Captain. If the challenge is excepted (It is considered cowardly if denied) the two cats shall fight until one submits or in some cases, dies. The victorious cat will then be Captain, and the losing cats fate is the new highest ranking cats decision.

Lieutenant

The deputy of the group, they again have word over other cats, and can give orders. However, they must inform the Captain and have permission before punishing. When the Captain is absent, this cat will take over. Once a Lieutenant dies, a new one must be appointed within a sunrise and sunset.

The Healer

The Healer names says it all. This cat has an oath to heal and tent to The Survivors needs. They must not turn down a cat to heal, and whatever the cat may have done must try their best to get them back to full health. Every cat must be respectful and polite to The Healer, as they may save their life one day.

The Apprentice(s)

A cat of any age, taking on the oath of a Healer. The Healer must take on any Apprentice, and can have up to two. They must train to be the best Healer they can be. Any cat can decide to be The Apprentice(s), but must have 6 moons of training till they are a fully promoted Healer.

Commander (Name of cat)

This name applies to two cats, one of the Rangers, one of the Hunting. For the Rangers, his cat must be addressed with 'Commander' before their name, it is considered disrespectful if not. They are head of the Rangers, and sent out exploration groups, control guard duty, and assign cats to protect hunting parties. Commanders are normally choosen to be the next lieutenant.

Rangers

The Rangers are around half the cats of the Survivors, they are heavy build, agile and have thick pelts and rough paw pads. These abilities make them suitable guards, and each cat is assigned to patrol an area in search of dangers and water. Each hunting party must be accompanied by at least one Ranger. These cats must obey their Commanders orders, as one day they might be selected to be their successor.

Hunters

As the name states, these cats are the hunters of the group. They are swift and are skilled in tracking. They must obey their Commander, and be respectful like any other cat. They give thanks to their Ancestors for the preys life, and must be cautious not to catch any diseased or radiated prey.

Privates

These are young cats, training to be either a Hunter or Ranger. They have a Trainer assigned to them. The Trainee must train them to their full ability, and consults The Captain when they believe they are ready to be a Hunter/Ranger. They take on all the roles of the rank hey are training for, but must be accompanied by an older cat.

Kits and Kit-Mothers

Kits are young cats, not old enough to begin training. They stay with the Kit Mothers, she-cats who are accused from their duties to care for her kits. Any mother can care for any kit, even if it isn't her own.

Knowledgable

These cats are the very few that make it to and elderly stage. They are the most experienced cats, they know more then any cat and have seen to much to say. They eat first, and are deeply respected. Only 1/10 cats will live too this considered high rank.
