"I hope this year goes we- Oh gosh, you're getting so tall!" A middle-aged woman dressed in overly formal clothes exclaimed. She reached out and gripped her daughter's shoulders, "Enjoy yourself!"
"Yes mum, I will." Mia grinned at her mother, her father stood beside them both looking a mix of embarrassed and proud.
"Calm down, will you?" He wrapped an arm around his wife. "Right-o Mia, we've got to rush. Your mother is keen on seeing some musical whilst we're over here. You're a big girl now too, you can handle yourself."

With a teary goodbye from her mum, both parents hurried off. Even having them just show up, if even for only a short while, that was enough for Mia. She pulled the handle of her trunk, lifting it onto its side. Then, she sat down and pulled a wicker basket onto her lap. A small 'mew' from inside assured her that Toulouse was still there, let alone alive. Mia wrapped her arms around the basket and huffed, the train should arrive soon. Hopefully, she'd be able to slip through and find herself an empty compartment. Sitting with others wouldn't necessarily be a problem, only a slight discomfort. Perhaps she could make some new friends.

The weather was considerably annoying, humidity was something known to Mia although not something enjoyed. The bustle of students ahead of her was surely not making it any better, it had to be better once they got to school. So, changing into robes would wait until last minute. Nonetheless, the excitement bubbling in her chest was hard to hide. Mia had to stop herself beaming and looking like a dag. She was going back, to a great school with great professors. She'd heard rumors of things happening but like all schools, you can't always believe what you hear.

Caden sighed when he had found that the train had yet to arrive to the station. Striding through the mass of teary eyed witches and wizards departing with their children, exclaiming their fair wells in person till Yule came along. Caden had just left his equally sad yet proud father behind the brick wall that hide the 9 3/4 train station to Hogwarts, having said their goodbyes beyond the wall earlier since he was unsure if the train had already arrived or not. The boy quickly finding a open pocket in between the mass of witches and wizards where he pulled the sliver handle of his trunk to lift it upon it's side where he then placed the large metal birdcage a top of next.
Percy, his large Cape-Eagle Owl let out a series of small barks and calls, the bird ruffling his feathers up in clear distaste for being in such a crowded space. Percy stretched his neck as much as the bird of prey could to lightly peck at his companion's fleshy fingertips through the bars of his cage. Caden looked down placidly at his feathered friend, lips pulled into a serene smile as he watched the bird nibble delicately upon his fingers, the bird being careful to not hurt him while doing so. excitement soon bubbling up slowly from his chest as the thoughts of going back to the school he had considered home for the past four years littered his mind. Caden remembered when his mother had long ago described to him her small adventurous and tales of the famous school of Hogwarts, how the school seemed to glow with magic, the walls of the old school humming with so much magic that it almost seemed to be sentient. Caden hummed at the very thought of going back to the large library there too.

I suddenly heard some banging on the window so I looked out to see Jill quickly chuck a small package through the top gap of the window. I opened the letter that was with the package:

Dear, Angel Night.
We have both finally found out you are in slytherin and might we say it must be a mistake you shouldn't be in that house. So you know we both love you but don't open the package until you are in somewhere alone.

Something now now made Angel freeze up a bit as she looked at who it was by. Her parents.

Niles had been quietly going back over his lesson plans to himself in the teacher's room, murmuring incoherent nonsense under his breath. It wasn't until Jeremy entered the room that Niles was thrown out of his thoughts with a startled jump and a small, animal like yelp. The man's head snapped around to see the "intruder," but as he recognized the friendly face he relaxed, "Good morning, Jeremy, good to see that you're just as excited as I for the students." A polite smile crossed his lips before he turned his attention back to his paper work, "What did you need? Maybe I'll have something if Amadeus lacks it."

He neatly stacked stacked up all his papers and took a quick look around to see if he was missing anything before he left the room.

Guinevere snarled under her breath as she approached the train and saw several of her peers, most of whom she had never even bothered to remember the names of, for she had no time for such pleasantries. She recognized Ben almost immediately, as he was fiddling with that stupid cat of his. Gwen hated the damn thing with every fiber of her being, mostly because it was an animal that wasn't her owl, Merlin. Speaking of the little devil, Merlin, as if on que, slammed himself into the side of his cage (again) and let out a startled honk. The red haired girl looked back to the stupid bird, "You know Merlin, they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting new results!" Her strong Scottish accent seemed to catch the the birds attention for a hot second, before he decided to slam himself into the cage again. With a huff, Gwen decided to move onto the train and unload her shit. She walked past Ben, momentarily contemplating if she could get away with kicking his cat's cage, but quickly decided against it.

The train cars were filling up at an uncomfortably high rate, but she managed to find a somewhat empty one. A smaller, black haired girl sat insider. Who was she again? She seemed vaguely familiar. Either way she seemed distracted by some package she was holding, and hadn't even bothered to look up at Gwen yet. The red-haired girl thought momentarily of how to approach her, but the decided it best just to go ahead and make herself known, "Oi, I'm going to sit here if that's okay with you." Even if it wasn't, Gwen would have sat there anyway.

Fern "Gully" Hughes ~ 5th Year Hufflepuff Prefect~ Mentions: Cliff and Ozzy

Fern bounded up to the train excitedly, "OHMYGOSHIMSOEXCITED!" A sharp, animal like squeal escaped his throat. This Fern's first year as a prefect, and heaven knows why he was chosen, but it was too late to change it. He quickly spotted Cliff, who was looking as nervous as ever, and his sweet little brother Ozzy and bounded over to them, "Cliff, Nice to see you again! I feel like I haven't seen you for an eternity! OH, and hello Ozzy!" As he spoke, Fern's accent became increasingly thicker, and his speech became more and more like gibberish. The poor fool was just absolutely ecstatic to see his house-mate for no other reason than just seeing another Hufflepuff.

I smiled and pet my owl once again but my letter's words still rang in my head over and over again. How did my parents even send the letter they aren't aloud access to the outside world.

'Ah shit, she knew my name,' were the first words that ran through Guinevere's mind as she hoisted up her luggage and put it up. She placed Merlin in the seat beside her, and he again thrust himself into the side of his cage. Gwen's constantly deadpan expression betrayed nothing of how flustered she was towards her bird and the mystery girl. The girls owl chirped at her, to which she replied back with a sarcastic chirp of her own.

Gwen plopped down on the seat and placed her scarred arm over Merlin's cage as she leaned against it. She contemplated how to get the name of the girl from her without directly asking, then decided to try her hand at a bit of small talk, "Hey... you..." so far, so terrible, "We haven't had the chance to really ever talk much." Gwen looked for something to talk about, then noticed her package, "So, what's in the box?"

Gwen cursed under her breath, but kept her unwavering stony expression, "Yeah, Angel, I knew that...." She had just needed a little reminder, that was all. After Angel explained the package Gwen narrowed her eyes, "Why? They aren't here. What they don't know won't hurt them." After a moment of thought, she added, "You're your own person, you don't have to follow every rule given to you, I mean, you're almost an adult, right?" To Gwen the idea of following the rules made Gwen frustrated, especially rules that were blindly followed by others, not to say Gwen was a deviant, but she had her own moral code that she held close to her heart.

As she stared silently at Angel, she realized what she said might have came off as rude, in fact, it was rude, but what could she do now? She already said what was on her mind, and either way, she did want an answer as to why anyone would follow any order given to them by their parents.

(Gosh, sorry that Gwen is a piece of garbage, lol)
