The past two Clans, FlameClan and RushClan, have died out. Multiple cats from each Clan left to become a kittypet, rogue/loner, or became deceased (dead). Several cats left, being led by a silver she-cat named Nettlewhisker, who was the deputy of RushClan. As she guided them to a new, fresh territory, and a large clearing, she created NettleClan.
