[ Redeye ]
Tom • 24 Moons • Future DuskClan Warrior
Location: Park • Mentions: (D) None - OPEN / (ID) Shadow

The sky was inky black, nearly starless save for the moon, large and full in the sky. Redeye’s white pelt was stark and noticeable under what little light the night offered, his red gaze bright and sparking with intrigue. He recalled two days previous, when a black tom with mismatched eyes had approached him on the streets, urging him and others to meet in the park. The other cats around him had scoffed, rejecting the request with suspicious glances and flattened ears. Redeye however was a curious sort. What could this cat have to say?

Once he had reached the park’s center he sat back on his haunches, long tail curling neatly around his paws while he waited for either the black tom to appear from the darkness or the arrival of another kindred soul. Redeye doubted he would be the only cat who wished to know what the strange tom had to offer. He'd hinted at a new way of life, and while the word 'better' hadn't entered the conversation Redeye was one to consider anything new or different better at this point. Could anything be worse than the life he and the other Twolegplace cats already lived? Ripping one another to shreds over resources, struggling to survive on their own every day?

[ Eyesore ]
She-Cat • 53 Moons • Future DuskClan Warrior
Location: Outside Park • Mentions: (D) None - OPEN / (ID) Shadow, Redeye

A single blue eye narrowed, its owner obscured among the branches of a tree overhanging the park, her mottled fur blending well with the bark. Curved claws sank deep into the wood beneath her paws, steadying the scarred she-cat as she hid herself among the leaves. She had clawed herself up to her current perch as the sun sank beneath the horizon, barely moving an inch as the sky blackened and the moon rose to bathe the park in dim silver light. She had yet to meet the black tom who was gathering cats, but rumors spread quickly and she had overheard the gossip around town enough times to want to see the meeting for herself.

A flash of white caught out of the corner of her eye saw her icy gaze following a pale, lanky tom as he glided across the stretch of grass leading to the meeting area. It seemed he was the first to arrive, besides herself, and she was in no hurry to introduce herself just yet. Eyesore was an observer above all else and preferred to keep out of sight until she decided whether or not she wanted to involve herself in any given situation. The tom seated himself near the front of the proposed gathering though he was alone, like a beacon to anyone else who might soon be approaching. His light pelt was hard to miss even from this distance.

[ Pyro ]
Tom • 24 moons • Future DuskClan Deputy
Location: Outside Park Mentions: (D)- None/Open (ID)- Shadow, Redeye

As Pyro approached the park on swift, steady paws, all that could be seen of him was his rich amber eyes. It must be an odd sight, he reflected, to see a pair of eyes running towards you in the night. He slowed his pace, then came to an abrupt halt outside the park. He was cautious, of course, though the cat that had approached him with offers of a 'new way of life' and seemed genuinely sincere, he was still distrustful of the others that may arrive. Pyro paced for a few moments, the moon now alighting on his pelt and making his anxious form become quite easy to see.

With a heavy sigh, Pyro slipped into the park, piercing the soft grass with his claws and determined not to show his fear, however slight it may be. His eyes roamed the park, and spotted only one other waiting there. The other tom's pelt was light, and Pyro kept his eyes trained on him. His ears pricked, he crept closer to the front of the gathering area, finally settling a little ways away from the tom. He curled his tail around his paws, and as he stopped moving, he resembled a carved statue; his chest couldn't even be seen heaving with breath.

Badger • Female/She-cat • Future Duskclan Apprentice • Location: Outside of Park ~ Park • Mentions: [Direct] None, [Indirect] Redeye, Pyro

Badger silently stalked through the unkept grass. The bitter smell of other cats hit her nose, and she raised her head, yellow eyes glittering like the Silverpelt above. She observed with silence, soon deciding to climb a tree. She pierced her claws into the soft, damp wood. She jumped up the side of the tree, reaching the branches of the fir tree. She watched, but the smell of cats still burnt her nose. She wanted to switch spots, because this branch wasn't too strong, and it made a strange feeling inside of her burn. Perhaps this was her 'feral instincts'? Like how her littermates used to tease her when she wanted to run out of the house folk's house? She sure hoped so. She was so hungry, from at least three days of trying to hunt, but failing.

She sighed and put her thoughts about being a feral cat to sleep, but continued watching. She could smell the tension coming from herself. She wanted to pounce down, and attack those cats. If only she knew how to do anything but a swipe with her paws.

Shadow|Future Leader of Duskclan| Tom| Location- Park| Mentions- all
---
The moon was full. It had come about so fast, had seemed like just yesterday he had come up with the wild idea that was now put in motion. Shadow padded his way quietly across the grassy path that led towards the park, his mind whirling. How many cats would come, if any? Would they be interested in listening to his words, or jeer and turn tail like so many rogues had done already? Tension began to creep into Shadow's spine, and he slowed his trotting until his paws had stopped moving, leaving him standing in the moonlight. The smallest sliver of doubt began to whisper in his mind, and he couldn't help but wonder if he was doing the right thing. A break in the clouds let a beam of moonlight fall across the inky tom, and his mismatched gaze fell to the sky, the stars reflecting in their depths. This was the right things to do, he knew it.
Shaking his head as if clearing away flies, the tom began to trot forward once again, wiggling his way under the broken fence, and to where he could already catch the first new scents of cats. his eyes moved swiftly to take account. There were not many, but it was still early and word traveled fast between the street cats. Shadow paused once more to linger on the fringe of the cats and took a deep breath.
'You are a warrior. This is the right thing to do.'
Tail held high, he walked his way towards a picnic table, coming to rest at its base. It would make a good place to speak. Once he arrived, he turned and looked to acknowledge each cat he could see with a nod, filled both with excitement and trepidation at the things to come.

Variegate
Tom • 38 Moons • Duskclan Warrior
Location: Park | Mentions: Redeye, Shadow [Indirectly]

To a two-legs, the night seemed to swallow the urban landscape. The moon cast a dim light across everything, but to them, it remained dark. The two-legs seemed to dislike the night. They scurried back to their dens and gathering spots and would remain there, surrounded by their kind. Night wasn't their time. Night was the time for cats. In the full moon light, the whole world seemed bright and clear. Perhaps it would be a sign of the future of this gathering.

On quite paws, Variegate made his way towards the park. He slipped through the shadows and over the pavement until pavement gave way to dirt and grass. The plants grew wildly here. Trees stretched above, their limbs untrimmed and sprawling. Amongst the branches were the bright eyes of cats like a strange ceiling of stars. The grass below hid cats too, their pelts creating colour in the greenery. Variegate eyed the various cats in the gathering. Most seemed tense, in one way or another. Tension started fights far too often. He decided to settle nearby a slender white cat with strange red eyes. He didn't mind the oddness of the cat. He was an oddity himself after all.

As more and more cats began to gather, Variegate wondered when the meeting would get started. He was usually a patient cat, but the streets had taught him that groups caused trouble and this group was growing larger by the minute. His stumpy tail flicked uncertainly. He was about to leave when he noticed a lean black cat heading towards the center of the gathering. As he turned to face the crowd, Variegate noticed the odd coloured eyes and the small white patch. He'd not seen the cat himself, but he'd heard the description from others. This must be Shadow, the reason they were all here. Variegate settled back on his haunches and perked his ears. Time to listen to what this cat had to say.

Pigeon|24 moons|Rogue|Location: Park

Pigeon sat quietly in the shadows of a large oak. Having been in the park for a few hours simply observing the arriving cats, the tension in the air made him anxious. The majority of the interaction he's had with cats was... well, not good to say the least. Twitching an ear back at the sound of a branch snapping he frowned and drew his tail tighter around his paws. Dark grey blended in remarkably well to the surroundings, and as he's been many times in his life, he thanked anything that was listening for his dark pelt.

Pale moonlight gleamed down on a landscape filled with cats. Many had gathered to hear what Shadow, as the tom was suggested to be called , had come to say. Pigeon wondered how many of them were like him, curious to hear of a new way of life, and had nothing to lose. The thought made him flinch minutely, ears folding against his head as thoughts of a small tom with a pale coat threatened to overwhelm him. He shook himself irritably, refusing to torture himself with bad memories. (He stoutly ignored the small voice in his head saying he deserved it).

A sudden hush fell over the clearing, and Pigeons head swivelled round to catch sight of a slim black cat walking towards the centre of the gathering. The tom, matched the description he had been given days prior by a... friend. In uncertainty, he began to softly need the ground with his claws, garnering himself a few wary glances from surrounding cats.

Shadow|Future Leader of Duskclan| Tom| Location- Park| Mentions- all
(Edited so Shadow actually introduces himself, whoops)
---
It was time. With a fluid motion, Shadow lowered his body and pushed from the earth, alighting on the seat of the bench, claws catching the soft wood. Swiveling his head slowly to observe the assembled cat once more, he sank to his haunches, tail wrapping around his slim paws as he spoke.

"Thank you all for coming here. You may have heard of me, at least in passing, but my name is Shadow. I'm sure you all might be a bit confused, or perhaps curious about what I've been going on about the past few days. " He paused, and his voice grew in confidence slightly as his gaze turned to the starry sky.

"You've all probably heard of the cats who live beyond the two-leg streets. Who live together in a pack- no a clan, who live by a code of honor that strengthens and bonds them as one. These cats live how our wild ancestors lived, how we were meant to live. " rising to his paws, Shadow began to pace along the bench seat, his voice filled with conviction, with the belief he felt in the idea of a clan life.

"We are not meant to rummage through garbage, to do nothing but exist defending our small scraps of space we call territory. Our blood is wild is meant to be free, from the kitty-pet who stares out his two-leg nest looking for purpose, to the rogue who dreams of glory. How better than to find a new life, to create a band, a clan to exist out of these streets and into the wild beyond. Our unity will lend us new strength, new purpose. I have learned the code, I have seen glimpses of the wonder a clan can do, and I ask you all, if you've never wondered if there could be something more to life, to make it fulfilled?" He paused, realizing his hackles had raised in his excitement, his tail lashing with exhilaration. Eyes glowing in the moonlight, he stared down with an intensity far larger than the lanky tom.

"If you've ever wanted more, I ask you to join me, to take up the code and live no longer as a street-cat, but as a Warrior of the wild. Let us make something with our lives, make our ancestors proud. " He leapt from the bench, landing lightly upon the grass so that he no longer sat over the others, but was one with them on equal ground.

Pyro || 24 Moons || Future DuskClan Deputy || Tom || Location: Park || Mentions: Shadow

Pyro's first and foremost thought was that this tom, Shadow, was undeniably a great leader. Every word that flowed from his tongue made perfect sense to the young tom, who was beginning to long for a life he had never stepped paw in. Yes, Shadow was right. They were meant to be free; they were meant to run under the moon and feel the forest dirt under their paws. This sheltered city life no longer appealed to Pyro. Now, he wanted far more- a future in the forest, alongside Shadow and whoever else may choose to join him. The night seemed to still around him as he made his decision; he no longer heard the cricketsong nor the shuffling of the others around him.

He rose to his paws, unfurling himself from a stock-still position, and stretched. His ears pricked, Pyro padded forwards to Shadow, dipping his head in respectful greeting. "I have listened carefully to what you have said, and I believe that this new way of life is one I would like to join you in. Becoming a warrior alongside you would be an honour," he said humbly; though he may have seemed pompous to onlookers, Pyro was simply attempting to show his respect for the other cat. He stepped back after a moment, flicking his gaze to the other cats around him. How many others would choose to join?

Sabira - 39 Moons - Female - Duskclan - Location: Park - Mentions: Shadow

As she sat on the edge of the crowd, somewhat hidden, listening.. she narrowed her eyes as the sudden cheering. Confound them.. so loud and obnoxious. But she was interested. Very interested. All her life she had been wandering the streets, forests and valleys to find what she was looking for.. a home.

Sabira came out from the hidden shadows and looked over the crowd, she was taller than most due to her breed. Siamese were very tall. She could see most quite easily. Shadow seemed wise and kind enough to lead a group of cats. But from what she knew, they'd need a deputy.. someone to look over duties. She knew she wouldn't even come close but one day..one day maybe she would.

A clan.. names names.. a clan does need a name. She knew of one near here.. She got it!
"If I may speak up mister.." Her voice was crystal clear and confident. "I know of a clan that lives deep in the woods on the edge of town. May I suggest..Duskclan? For the name. A counteract of Dawnclan." Her gaze remained calm, collect and serious. Due to her travels, she knew a lot of the world. But she knew most of this town.

Shadow|Future Leader of Duskclan| Tom| Location- Park| Mentions- Pyro, Sabira
---
It came as a slight surprise to Shadow when a tom came padding forward. even if one cat was interested, that meant something. He couldn't contain the purr in his chest at the words the cat spoke. This tom seemed respectable, strong. He would be a good example that strength did not mean one didn't need others.
"Thank you, that means a lot. I know that this life will be different than anything you, or any of you," his gaze twitched towards any onlookers. "But the rewards are indescribable." His narrow shoulders shifted up and down slightly, his attention turning when another cat, a tall female padded forward. So she knew of Dawnclan even by name. While many of the cats knew of the forest clan, not many knew more than that. He chuckled slightly as a new name escaped her mouth. Duskclan. It seemed too easy, but it was perfect.
"Duskclan." He repeated, enjoying the way the words felt. He chuckled again and turned towards the she-cat.
"You're not wrong. It does seem fitting." He purred twitching his tail to control the growing glee in his chest.
"I assume that means you're interested. " Blinking warmly at the two in thanks, he turned his attention out once more.
"I know it is a hard decision. I also know it will not be easy, and I don't expect every cat to decide so swiftly. So know this, no cat will be turned away from us. To anyone willing to take the clans ways, they will have a place. A place in Duskclan." the last sentence filled Shadow with a sense of determination, and for the first time, the idea that his hope could become a reality.

Sibira - 39 Moons - Duskclan - Location: Park - Mentions: Shadow

Sibira gave a nod in response. "To answer your question, yes. I'm interested." With a small glimmer of hope, she flicked her tail. "May I add.. your speech is quite heartwarming. May we talk later? I have a few questions I'd like to ask privately." She spoke, staring at the young tom. Shadow seemed.. younger than herself. Most were now a days.

This Shadow fella, he seemed so open, so willing and nice. But even she knew, opening the doors for anyone to join..could cause major issues such as betrayal. She wasn't one for such things. Hopefully he'd also agree to a private speaking after the meeting.

Pyro || 24 Moons || Future DuskClan Deputy || Tom || Location: Park || Mentions: Shadow, Subira

Pyro's gaze flickered over to the tall she-cat, who seemed incredibly intent on getting Shadow on his lonesome. As he studied her, he felt a sense of suspicion curl in his chest- perhaps it would be wise to keep an eye on her. Though he knew it was likely an unwise idea to start off distrusting of others, he had been that way his entire life, and though Shadow spoke with undisguised enthusiasm, this she-cat seemed to pick her words cleverly. Pyro turned his attention back to Shadow, a polite smile gracing his features.

"How would this 'Clan' work?" Pyro questioned, his head cocked curiously. "Are each of us equals, or are there certain positions one must fill? Do we all do the exact same thing?" Despite his slight misgivings about the other cats, Pyro could not hide his curiousity, nor his eagerness to belong to a group. Having been on his own for so long had developed in him a sort of loneliness, one he thought could be filled with the company of cats like Shadow- brave, intelligent cats, those that could challenge both his intellectual and physical boundaries. His tail twitched in excitement, his pelt ruffled and spiked around his neck. Yes, try as he might, Pyro could not contain his inquisitive nature.

Badger • Female/She-cat • Future Duskclan Apprentice • Location: Outside of Park ~ Park • Mentions: [Direct] Shadow, etc. [Indirect] None.

Badger slunk down the large fir tree. Yellow eyes glittered, daring and inquisitive. Badger dropped low to the ground, her soft underbelly hair brushing the grass. The moon glowed, fat and full. It's yellow coloration poured out onto the park, a picnic table holding a shadow. She slunk toward it, but her eyes held something deeper. She didn't dare trust this tom, he seemed very leaderlike, but she had learned long ago that other cats, especially rogues. "Uh...Are you the rogue they speak of? The one gathering all shapes and sizes for a group, a...Clan?" Young, eager eyes came quickly toward the tom, the grey outline of a cat visible in the dark.

"Or are you going to ambush me...Is this some kind of trap?" Muscles, small but visible, appeared on the legs of the young she-cat. Her lithe stature clearly held some muscles, even if they were small. She bitterly took in a breath, untrusting and very aggressive. She was young, but she hoped this showed the tom she was not looking for any trouble. She just wanted somewhere to belong. Her housefolk disappeared three nights ago, but she still reeked of the dirty smell of housefolk. She hoped it wasn't too evident in the air. She had heard of 'kittypets' being teased in the wild once they got out.

Pigeon|24 moons|Rogue|Location: Park

Pigeon watched speculatively as the black tom- Shadow, he reminded himself- spoke of living in a .. clan. The idea was appealing , though there had to be more to it than was explained. The forest was unkind, with predators larger than cats, and if the shecat were to believed, other cats as well. This meant a clan would need protection, cats to keep them safe, to keep them fed. And who, he wondered would be the leader? The unassuming black tom seemed like an obvious choice, but power made a monster of most.

The tree under which he had positioned himself was close to the bench, and he observed the cats coming forth to speak their pieces as he turned his gaze to the tom who started all this. The cat was lean, around his own age , he assumed, and slightly smaller then himself. He marvelled at the toms capability of speech, the was he had used words to paint a picture of a home for those with out one. A purpose he supposed. It was worth a thought.

Demeter
She-cat • 53 Moons • Duskclan Warrior
Location: Park | Mentions: Shadow

Demeter wasn't a social cat. She didn't actively avoid others, but she didn't seek them out either. She should have been content to ignore this get together, and yet, there she was. She'd kept to the outskirts of the crowd for the most of it, but found herself creeping forwards as the black cat spoke. He talked of honor, of safety, but she knew better. Her clan had spoken much the same until it was too late to back out. They'd made her prove herself. They'd made her siste- Demeter shook her head. She had to bury to past, but she wouldn't let others fall into this trap.

With confident pawsteps, she approached Shadow. He was flanked by two other cats who seemed confident in joining the clan. She couldn't blame them. Promises of safety, food, and unity were tantalising for cats who'd lived on the street. Even kittypets found the idea of a clan alluring, the chance for them to shed their dependence and give in to a wilder nature. With desperation came desperate measures. Demeter came to rest a few lengths away from the black cat. Her stance was wide, her tail flicking, she was ready for the worst, she had to be.
"You talk about this clan as a haven, but how can we trust you? A clan can so quickly become a gang," she tilted her body to show her scarred pelt, "as I've already discovered. What guarantee can you provide that this wont be the same?"
