Description & Personality

Mud is known to be a 'gentle giant' of sorts. He is a Mackenzie Valley Wolf, standing at 34 inches with the bodyweight of 205 pounds (some of that weight being his fur), one would think that this brute wolf would be frightful in battle, even merciless; but that is not the case. This brown-hued wolf is not only charismatic and charming, but he is also a generous, thoughtful, patriotic type leader with his eyes set out only for love and success for his pack. Throughout his life, Mud has experienced heartbreak and emotional trauma, which has formed the warrior into what he has become today, which is merely a teddy-bear type with good intentions. Having experienced such loss, Mud only wishes the best for his loved ones, and plans to give it to them. His superiors would agree that albeit Mud tends to keep to himself and believes that independence is an important asset, the brute always has a soft spot for helping those around him, whether that be standing up to a bully, protecting his friends, fending off fellow predators, or confronting his foes. Because of Mud's brashness and honesty, he has landed himself in more confrontations than he can possibly count. An experienced fighter and whatnot, Mud has been trained since a whelp to grow into the utterly muscular wolf he is today. Years of training and sparring has made itself up for when the earth-coloured male chooses to stand up for what is right. Scars are scattered throughout his body, though they are hidden within his massive brown pelt; with long, thick fur, the scars remain invisible, defending the saying of 'gentle giant', whereas Mud looks as if he hasn't sparred in his life. Some scars that tend to stand out some of the time include a scar reaching from his left armpit, down his torso towards his groin, and a few faint claw marks on the bridge of his nose. Other than some slight imperfections, there are no noticeable markings on this handsome male.

History

Born into a savage pack, Mud stood out amongst those who were bloodthirsty and spiteful. Ever since he was born, his powerful leader at the time kept his eyes set on Mud as the heir to the pack, having been born with an unusually large build. He was bigger than his one other littermate (the runt), and as an adolescent he quickly began towering over those around him; including the pack's Alpha. Despite doubts and fear that Mud would overrule and perhaps assassinate the vengeful Alpha, the warriors helped train Mud, constantly sparring with him and building him up to be the best warrior that the forests have ever seen. Soon after Mud has proven himself by overpowering every male wolf within the pack, a coronation of sorts was planned for Mud to accept his position as heir to the pack, to serve the Alpha, and to lead alongside him. Mud had other plans, though. That night in the sparring pits lit up a lightbulb in Mud's head, and as the independent wolf he is, he had mentally told himself that he would go off alone, to learn about and to train himself.
Once Mud returned to the pack grounds, he confronted the Alpha with his decision to leave the pack and to venture off on his own, to learn more about himself. A riot broke out within the dens once the Alpha announced Mud's decision, creating a blood-curdling howling session amongst the pack members. Teeth and claws began raining down on Mud, and the poor, kind soul was utterly confused at this sudden retaliation. He always knew that the pack was evil, but he never thought that they would turn on him like this. In a sudden rage of frustration and confusion, the brown wolf slashed his claws out towards him, hooking his claws on the first pelt he could get a hold of. Unfortunately, in pure bad luck, his wolf happened to be Mud's sister, Quake. In a wild rage, Quake was killed, on accident of course. The pack fell silent as Quake lay motionless and Mud stared in absolute horror at what he had done. A sadness fell over him as he gazed at those around him, at the toxicity he was surrounded by, and he knew then that it was time to leave for good. Backing out of the den site, Mud hid himself within the foliage, silent and dreadful of what has become of him. With a push of his hind-legs, he was off, leaving his pack behind. Ever since then, the pack had believed that Mud had gone missing and either killed himself or was killed by natural forces, as he was never seen by his family again.

Crush / Mate

None at the moment, though he deeply cares for every wolf within the pack. Mud is open for relationships and wishes to share his love for a specific someone. Pups are definitely a possibility in the future if he someday found a mate.

Appearance Smallish with a hard, lean physique of an active wolf. Effeminate display of character, contrastingly rugged features. Arresting eyes; dark and emotive, suggest a trace of exotic blood in his ancestry. Facade may convey a sense of alluring vulnerability, strange enigmatic aura that most likely indicates Lae takes after the mannerisms of a different species. The youngster sports a reddish-brown top coat, that fades from amber to white fur on his underside and legs. The fur on his muzzle and face, however, is an arbitrary design of black and grey. His coat becomes significantly darker as he ages. He always looks hungry.

Personality Laertes has always been skilled at self-aggrandizement and social rebellion, which contributes to his cunning and quick-wittedness. Since his emotional side is least developed, this solitude male may have difficulty giving the warmth and support that is sometimes necessary in intimate relationships. Forgetting to realize the value of attending to others' feelings, he is prone to become overly critical and sarcastic with others. Not having been taught how to develop his sensing side sufficiently, he may become unaware of his environment and exhibit weakness in performing maintenance-type tasks; such as hunting and coexisting with other wolves within a pack setting.
Laertes is very independent, unconventional, and original. He is likely to place much value on traditional goals such as peace and security. He's usually a very complex character, and tends to be restless and temperamental. He lives primarily inside his own mind, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations, almost always on the fly. Lae is typically so strongly driven to turn problems into solutions, that he lives much of his life within his head, and may not place as much importance or value on the outside world. He values knowledge above all else. He seeks clarity in everything, and is therefore driven to build knowledge. He is strongly ingenious, and has unconventional thought patterns which allows him to analyze others and things in new ways. Consequently, Lae is extremely skilled at squeezing his way out of tight situations. He loves challenging his enemies and outsmarting pursuers. Despite his flexible nature, this strange wolf is easily frustrated, with a heated temper. However, his bark can be worse than his bite.
The lone wolf may seem distant and dreamy to others because of his time spent with his head in the clouds. He is generally very persuasive, but does not like to lead or control people. He is very tolerant and flexible in most situations, unless one of his firmly held beliefs has been violated or challenged, in which case he may take a very rigid stance. Lae is likely to be quite shy or standoffish when it comes to meeting new people. On the other hand, he is very self confident and gregarious around people he knows well. Laertes has no understanding or value for decisions made on the basis of personal subjectivity or feelings. He strives constantly to achieve logical conclusions to problems, and can't understand the importance of relevance of applying subjective emotional considerations to decisions. For this reason, Lae is not usually in-tune with how people are feeling, and is not naturally well equipped to meet the emotional needs of others, especially other wolves. This may result in a lack of motivation to form and maintain relationships. Lae has never had a very large circle of significant relationships in his life. He's much more likely to have few very close relationships, which he holds in great esteem and with great affection. Since his primary focus and attention is turned inward; aimed towards seeking clarity from abstract ideas, he finds that the outside world pales in comparison. He tends to be difficult to get to know well, and holds back parts of himself until the other person has proven themselves worthy of hearing his thoughts. Holding knowledge and brain power above all else in importance, Lae will choose to be around those who he considers to be intelligent. Once he has committed himself to a relationship, however, this enduring wolf tends to be very loyal and faithful, and conform affectionate attachments which are pure and straight-forward.

History Laertes was raised not by wolves, but by bears, in a black forest not far from his current pack’s territory. Being the runt of the litter, his original pack had abandoned him in early frost. If it weren’t for a candid mother bear and her three cubs, it would’ve been unlikely for Lae to survive the winter. She nursed the wolf as her own and treated him similar to how she would treat her own children. Being raised by bears, a more solitudinal mammal, Lae was accustomed to spending most of his time alone and thus wasn’t familiar with the social life that pertains to pack-living. Despite his softness and unhurried cadence, he carried an edge to him and was very territorial, as all bears were. When he was old enough to separate from his mother, he and his adoptive sister found themselves in each other’s company still, although their brothers left to claim territories of their own. Lae, however, could not circumvent his wolfish instincts. He was, at the core of his framework, a sociable animal and sought dire comfort in the presence of his sister bear. The two lived happily with one another, until his sister succumbed to a sickness that Lae did not understand. She foamed at the mouth and became vicious towards the wolf. Laertes had no choice but to flee. Alone, Laertes wandered aimlessly through the lands searching for something he had never been familiarized with; a pack where he could coexist with members of his own species. Upon being accepted by others like himself, and not feeling so different for once, Laertes couldn’t have been more at home with the Angelic wolves.
