Battling random enemy encounters in Explore is based a lot on luck - which can be good in some ways! But especially for greenies like me who have their low-stat starter lions still, this can be a little rough. Whether or not you win against that wolf pack is entirely dependent on if they miss some, if you miss some, or if your attacks happen to hit for 5 points or 14 points. I've lost to easy opponents just because I failed at grabbing them about four times in a row. It's a little frustrating!

I'd really love to see the battling layout take a little more from turn-based RPGs, where opponents are still difficult, but if you use strategy then it's at least not 100% based on luck. For instance, in lioden, enemies like Poachers and the dog packs have a weakness to Clawing. But I don't know if any other enemies have weaknesses to other attacks?

My suggestion is to make certain enemies more susceptible to things like Kick, Bite, and etc. Maybe some enemies are more likely to be stunned or grabbed than others! This retains some difficulty because you need to know what moves work against what enemies, and there's still a chance that you lose even if you know what to do (since your attacks can still miss, or the other creature can just be stronger). But it'll add some extra depth to the battles, instead of sitting there and repeatedly clicking Pound, praying it stuns them, and waiting for a chance to Strangle and then Rest. Maybe it'd even make it possible to take down things like Bull Elephants and Rhinos more often.

I hope this makes sense, and please feel free to discuss the topic here! Thank you!

Some enemies already have this - Trample works really well on single small enemies, for example, and some enemies have thinner or thicker skin which makes them take more or less damage from Claw. But it's absolutely something that could be expanded on more - right now the main thing you can do to improve your odds is improve your stats. I'd like to see a bit more strategy to NPC battles.

Some enemies have strengths too- Elephants and Rhinos have thick skin and Claw doesn't work well on them. Resting is also a bad idea because they will charge you. Pretty much Grab>Kick>Kick>Kick on enemies like that.

Edit: I'd like to add that stats are of very limited use in improving your luck. Sure, when you leave your 30 stat starter king behind you will notice a difference, but almost any lion you king will be 100% better at fighting. My 7500 stat leader board king on account A is not noticeably more likely to win than my 700 stat temporary color king on account B. If anything my leader board king has been having more trouble killing angels this month than the color king has had against demons.
