I searched and couldn't find this, surprisingly. Only suggestions on ways to punish inbreeding.

Instead - could we get some sort of tool, perhaps at the Scrying Stone, to check heritages of a lion for inbreeding, and to check between two lions to see if they would cause inbreeding? It would be a simple tool where it would check the IDs of all lions submitted to see if there are any duplicates and call that back as "this lion has some inbreeding in its heritage" or "these two lions are related!".

This would be extremely helpful for those of us who want to have clean lines, but have to keep track of these things long term manually or do extensive research into genetic trees to check for inbreeding.

This suggestion has 272 supports and 21 NO supports.

With there currently being a bug (that admins for some reason claim it isnt) that makes a lioness stick a name she doesnt have anymore in Full Heritage, this feature does seem necessary for those who want their lines to be inbreeding-free for story purposes. Support.

It would also be useful for heirs as well. So I'd imagine it would be implemented for all lions including Kings and of course queens if you have lab test frog on your main male. So I support this.

What would be hard mode about hard mode if we didn't have to check though?
I understand why people are asking for it,
but also understand why most games where you opt for pure or not don't make it this easy.

I do have to point out that Hard mode is only a play style and not an official one at that. Also because hard mode isn't official Lioden isn't trying to make the gameplay difficult. Now if you want to make it difficult for yourself and continue to say check manually if a feature like this is implemented than that's your choice. Hard mode rules can be amended because it's not an official lioden thing it's just a challenge in clan for people to do they can simply tell people not to use the heritage checker in order to consider yourself a hard mode account.

So in conclusion I support this because it won't actually effect hard mode users too badly considering that the clan that made hard mode can just update their hard mode account requirements by putting that hard mode users don't use the heritage checker.

I really don't see the challenge of hard mode - which doesn't even ban inbreeding - being checking heritages. The challenge is building up a pride from scratch. Likewise those of us who run clean lined prides (as I do on my main) find the challenge in finding & keeping lines clean throughout the generations, not in the manual work it takes to track generations of lions.

Sorry, but inbreeding has no impact on game play and most users couldn't care less about whether their lions were inbred or not. I'd much rather the Lioden team spent their time on something that would benefit the majority of users, rather than a small niche.

BIG SUPPORT! Tools like this already exist. For example, Flightrising.
It may take some time but I don't see the problem in implementing something similar.
I have a small idea for it's "NPC". They could be some sort of shaman or scholar and they could tell how many inbred lineages (because the note below the heritage is not very accurate) your lion has or if two lions have shared ancestors by putting their codes in a dropbox similar to the wardrobe.

Support support support. I re-started my pride recently to get rid of inbreeding and I would love this to be a thing.

I'm pretty sure the admins have already mentioned that this would be impossible to code, or at least incredibly difficult. It would be awesome if there were an easier way to check lions with extensive heritages but I'm not sure it's feasible.

Since the staff mentioned on redoing the coding on the game it may be possible now but we may see.

Yes inbreeding has no effect and many don't care But to those who do, this is neat and very useful as it Is harder to keep a lion clean for own known reasons than to breed here and there with whoever. everyone has a playstyle and we all be able to use thing many can use If we want to use it ^ ^

I support personally since i started some time back in trying the clean breeding playstyle and never went back to breeding with this lion cuz omg pretty cubs. I wanted the challenge of keeping clean lines and do my own projects with it. Not everyone who has a clean lion will put it in the name or their user and some may not even care at the time to do that.
Plus having to manually look through an entire Family tree which can be a long ass one is time consuming and annoying So having a way to confirm with a click of a button after paying a small SB fee like in Scrying stone is much better.

People who don't care for this don't have to use it afterall and at least this is something that many will enjoy :3

I fully support this. I was actually going to make the same suggestion and went looking to see if anyone had already made a post about this. Since my hiatus from lioden for like 3 years, it changed from people after the rarest markings and all the muties to "clean" and "dirty" being tacked onto lions. Last time I was on lioden the dwarf was the latest rage. With inbreeding having literal no in game affect, I was a bit baffled people would care so much about it to the point where it lowered the lion's value. I avoid direct inbreeding out of morals sake, but there's no denying the pretty babies that can come out of some father-daughter/mother-son pairs. *sweet home Alabama plays*

If we really want to avoid people devaluing lions for something that has no in game effect, or avoid inbreeding all together, it needs to either have an in game effect (ie: more likely to produce lethal mutations/misarranges the more inbreeding in a lion's linage) or needs to do what flightrising does where it won't let you breed two lions together if their bloodlines are too close.

Sorry for the partial rant, the sudden care about clean bloodlines kinda triggers me ^^; I mean no offense, play the game how you wish.

If inbreeding is to never have an in game effect and remain purely aesthetic, I feel this would be the perfect tool to help those who are trying to avoid inbreeding without having to hunt down through the extensive heritage to ensure their babies come out "clean."

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention that I learned recently. With lioden now telling players in the heritage page that a lion has inbreeding/no inbreeding, it essentially makes it an in game feature. If we don't want it to have any in game effects, in my personal opinion, we shouldn't be warned if a lion/lioness has any instances of inbreeding and search for that ourselves like the old days. Then it takes away the labels and makes inbreeding something that is pure aesthetic and not something that's pointed out by the game itself. It seems contradicting for the game to point out that inbreeding is a recognized in game feature, let a player know that their lion is a result of inbreeding, but then not do anything with it functionality wise. (I hope I made sense, I'm terrible at explaining my thoughts)
