i was watching a video on youtube recently and, for some reason, i had completely forgotten about lynxes. well, looking at them, they would be interesting to cross with a lion. i know it isn't necessarily natural, considering they are both much smaller than a lion and in a completely different area, but that also got me thinking, what if there were a combination of traits that would give a lion lynx-like features (specifically the european lynx)

1. large paws- it seems like a call for overgrown paws is long overdue. i think ive seen it somewhere around the boards, but im not certain (cause my memory is shiiit) but large paws could give a lion a stealth advantage because of the softer sound it would make on dirt, grass, or sand

2. ear points- not only for aesthetic reasons, but ear fluff and ear points in the right places can act as a hearing aide!

3. OG fur- i know we already have overgrown fur, but considering this is a different kind, it would be interesting. it may be harder to cool this lion down, but a dip in the watering hole would do wonders, i think. maybe a thick undercoat or wiry fur would be a better way to describe this.

4. part primal- lynxes have very long, burly legs and small heads, perfect for running and aerodynamics (i think. im no expert) so when i think of that, i think felis! maybe this could be an additional mutation or a mutation variant?

anyway, this is just my two cents! feel free to fire away!

I'd say this'll best fit as a primal variant

All members of the lynx family are in the genus Lynx. Lions are in the genus Panthera. Much like the Cheetah (who is in the genus Acinonyx), no members of the Lynx family can interbreed with lions, so I can't support. Only species in the same Genus can successfully interbreed (we're getting Tigons and have leopons. Jagions have been suggested, as have Snow Leopons, and that's it for the Panthera family).

It could be interesting as a primal variation, however!

as a new primal this would work better, just a primal inspired by the lynx
