Name: Shadow Claw

Description: Shadowclaw is pure black cat with silky long hair and amber eyes. She has a sinuous, long limbed body that is reminiscent of a Turkish Angora. Her features are dainty and she has an elegant air that belies her true predatory nature.

Personality: Befitting a guard, Shadowclaw is fiercely loyal to her clan and will obey any orders given to her without question. In fact she is a cat who is truly deserving of her name as one of her primary duties is using her excellent abilities of stealth and stalking to spy on whoever the chiefs ask her to. Also despite her dainty appearance, she is vicious in battle as she uses her speed and long limbs to often score a couple of blows before her enemy can strike back.

She is also very protective of her mother's memory who was in fact the one who trained her for her current position. Yet she does have a soft side as she adores playing with and teaching kits whenever she gets the chance, though this obviously doesn't extend to the offspring of turnclaws.

However this she cat has a highly guarded secret in that she sometimes wonders if the clan's methods and morals are truly best for the clan. Of course she keeps this strictly to herself and struggles internally with it particularly when she considers what her mother might think.

History: Shadowclaw was born to a guard who had similar duties called Silentfang. While having been exemplary in her service to the clan, her mother knew that her best years were behind her. Soon she would have to retire into an elder or more likely be killed in action. Yet before that happened, she wanted to perform a very important service and raise her own replacement. So she spoke to Timberstar to ask for a reduction in duties so she could use the time to carefully pick and train one of her kits to take her place.

Then she very carefully watched her kits before selecting Shawdowkit for her apprentice. Then while the rest of her litter went to other warrior, she personally trained Shadowpaw to follow in her footsteps. While the training was very difficult, the two still had a very strong bond which helped to drive her daughter to excel. Silentfang would watch her daughter with pride and looked forward to the day she would watch her child take her place as a guard.

Yet she wouldn't live to see that day as one day the clan came under threat by a pair of coyotes. Knowing that she had raised a fine daughter, Silentfang sacrificed herself to lead the coyotes away and was never seen again. Following her mother's death, Shadowclaw was heartbroken, but determined to honor her mother by serving the clan the best she could.

She was put through rigorous testing to see if she was worthy of becoming a guard and managed to pass them all. Upon doing so, she was granted the rank and has been serving admirably since.

(Let me know if you want me to change anything. I liked the idea of a guard raising a guard because would you really trust a simple warrior with such a task? Of course if you don't like that, I can change it.)
