Lazy Eyed Lions(Amblyopia)

Amblyopia or more commonly known as a lazy eye, is not as uncommon among animals as it seems.

Causes
Lazy eyes are caused by an imbalance in muscles or if one eye is in more focus than the other.

Handicaps

Is it Lethal?

No, of course not! It only affects the lion's vision.

What Would it Affect?

It would lower the chance of lionesses bringing back prey, and lower the chances of a subordinate male of bringing back something. This would be because having an eye that is looking in a different direction messes up the vision, and stops the lion or lioness from seeing prey, but it does not make the lion completely blind.

Is it Passable?

No. It is caused by muscle problems or a eye out of focus when the lion is a cub. It is not genetic either.

Cross Eyes(Strabismus)

Strabismis or more commonly known as Cross eyes, can be an early development of Amblyopia.

Causes
Cross eyes are caused by a lighter but equally serious imbalance in muscles or if one eye is in more focus than the other.
