This hybrid was originally adapted for the cold, but has now expanded to more temperate environments, growing long tails and bigger ears in response to the warmer temperatures. They are usually solitary, and family groups usually consist of a mother and her cubs, although small groups of siblings sometimes stick together to survive their vulnerable early years.
