Avendeer Adopts Thread

A species of deer has recently been rediscovered, Avendeer, thought to have gone extinct hundreds of years ago due to excessive hunting. They have been known to live in herds of up to two thousand, led by a pair of superiors. The leading buck has the largest set of antlers among most. These deer have a strict hierarchy within their herd and ranks are highly important to them. It is said that the herd values wisdom and cares for the weaker among them, they are extremely intelligent creatures and can master the languages of other animals, like birds as such. Their brains are almost as sophisticated as humans, and perhaps with further study we will learn that they are able to imitate our way of speaking. They also communicate with each other through body language, like most other animals do of course.
Aven come in all exotic colors and markings, each with different patterns and personality, no two Aven are the same. They feed on nuts, berries, plantation and even meat if deemed necessary. Doe birth only one fawn per pregnancy, but there have been records showing differently..
