I don't know if others share this sentiment, but I decided there wouldn't be any harm in putting it out as a suggestion. I apologize if this has been suggested before and I missed it.

Whack a Snake is one of the mini games that takes me the longest to play (up to around 15 minutes per game for a top tier score) and I've actually been avoiding it lately due to the ambiance/background noise. I tend to be sensitive to sound and the background noises are unpleasantly high pitched for me (especially the one very shrill bird whistle) and become very grating on my ears after an extended period of playing the game. I'd also love to be able to listen to music while playing the game which I cannot do with the game's sound turned on.

There is already an option to mute the game entirely, but I personally play poorly on this setting since I need the sound cues of hitting the snake and monkey to let me know when I've clicked properly and when I've missed the target since a hit and a near miss can look very similar visually. I know that the hit and time out animations are different, but it can still be difficult for me to distinguish when the game is moving very quickly and I don't have time to glance at my life count.

I would love it if there were in addition to the mute button, a separate button to toggle the ambiance/background noise on/off while leaving the target hit sounds in place. This would make this game a lot more enjoyable for me personally and I thought could be helpful to others who are sensitive to high pitch noises but still find the hit cues helpful!
