I love birds so this new encounter is right up my alley, I made a short list of some sadly lost birds I thought would be cool to eventually be added to the encounter pool.

1. My favorite bird the Ivory Billed Woodpecker. Large woodpeckers that inhabited the southern united states. Claimed sightings of the Ivory Bill are as recent as 2017 but widely accepted evidence of their survival is lacking. There is also the Imperial Woodpecker which if it is alive inhabits Mexico and is the largest woodpecker in the world.

2. Any of the five birds belonging to the family Mohoidae These Hawaiian songbirds represent the only complete extinction of an avian family in modern times.

3. Tahitian Red-billed Rail - An flightless extinct species of rail that live in Tahiti.

4. Spectacled Cormorant - The largest cormorant known to exist it inhabited Bering Island but recently discovered to have had a much larger range then previous thought before a natural climate shift led to a population decline.

5. Choiseul Pigeon - A ground dwelling pigeon that lived on the Choiseul island.

6. North Island Piopio - An extinct passerine bird that lived on New Zealand's North Island.
