BEFORE THE CLANS


"Gather around, kits, for I'm only going to tell this story once." An elderly gray tabby tom meowed, resting his semi bobbed tail next to him. Several small bundles of fur came crashing over, knocking each other over and letting out hisses of annoyance when they got their tails stepped on. The elder, known as Minnowtail, let out a slight purr of amusement but said nothing. The kits eventually sat down, ears perked up in excitement and eyes gleaming. An orange and white tabby kit jumped up. "Are we going to here about the Great Clans, grandpa?!" She called out, fur bristling in excitement. Minnowtail turned to her, softening his eyes. "That we will, little Gingerkit. The Great Clans. There were three clans of big cats before ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, RiverClan, and SkyClan. However, the Great Clans were anything but Great." He explained with a raspy meow.

Murmurs of confusion rang through the clearing. "What? Why were they called the Great Clans if they weren't Great?" A light brown kit meowed. The black and white apprentice beside him let out a snicker. "Are you a mouse brain, Goosekit?" The apprentice meowed before getting slapped across the face with a bushy tail, belonging to a gorgeous she-cat sitting next to him. "Oh hush, Minkpaw. The only mouse brain here is you." The other apprentice mumbled, shaking her head. The male apprentice opened his mouth to shoot back a retort before Minnowtail hardened his eyes. "And that right there, kits, is why the Great Clans fell. At the paws of mouse brained cats, just like Minkpaw," He began, glaring at the tom who fluffed his fur out in embarrassment and looked away. "Violence. It is never good. War. It is never great. War always leaves me thinking why cats are praised to kill," The elder grunted, shaking his head. The kits tilted their heads and looked at each other before breaking off into jumps. "Tell us more!" They demanded and all Minnowtail did was sigh heavily.

"Well, little kits, this is the story of the rise and fall of the Great Clans: TigerClan, LeopardClan, and LionClan..."

Great Clans Information:
The Great Clans are the three Clans the modern Clans have descended from.
They were Clans consisting of species of big cats, living freely in the wild. They are regarded as the ancestors of all cats, both Clanborn and kittypet. The legends attribute the different great cat species with having given the cats the different traits they now possess. LionClan had flowing manes, like the rays of the sun. LeopardClan were swift, and had black spots on their pelts like racing pawprints. TigerClan were flame-colored night hunters, with black stripes like shadows flickering across their fur and the darkness of night in their souls. There are stories about these Clans, but it is unsure whether the current cats actually believe the tales are true or not.

Rules:
1. Make sure to thoroughly read or skim through Lioden's rules since they do indeed apply here, no matter what.
2. Anyone is available to join this roleplay! Just PLEASE make sure to write at least three sentences! Five sentences are highly preferred .
3. Make sure to not godmod or powerplay. This... It just isn't fun. No auto-hits or auto-dodges. If your character gets into a fight, they must be injured in some way or form.
4. Your character is NOT and will NOT be perfect! They can't be the most attractive, most strongest, or most intelligent. They must have flaws alongside strengths.
5. I will allow four characters per person.
6. Snow Leopards will be allowed but I'm only allowing four. Hybrids are allowed as well. I'm only allowing three hybrids.
7. Make sure to use an image that are allowed to be use. When searching for images, I recommend using Flickr (when searching for photo references on Flickr, make sure to change "Any license" to "All creative commons").
8. Let's make this realistic, shall we? These felines must have a natural fur color. No purple lions or green tigers, alright?
9. I will send you a PM to let you know if your character has been accepted. Do NOT roleplay without my permission or approval.
10. Be active! I understand things come up but let me know! If your character has been inactive in roleplay for four days, and I don't hear a reason why, they will be removed.
