"Well, well, well."
A voice called out, causing your pride to tense up as you turn towards the snake.
"A newcomer. Are you aware youre treading on pride grounds?"
Your eyes focus, as it was clearly visible. Its blue eyes stared at you, before scoffing.
"Take your eyes off, for a moment. It's rude."
It hissed, as as it turned.
"Taia pride has claimed these lands. However, you may explore farther. WITH Nubless's approval. Alright?" Its head turned to you, not letting you answer as it slithered forward.
"Come now, brave leader."

Thubanitak watched the snake with a placid expression, and, unlike the rest of his pride, did not stir at it's appearance. He snorted at it's forwardness, suppressing the urge to stand on it's tail and stop it from slithering any further. "Serpent, you speak to me as if I should know of this, Nubless," He answered, slowly falling in step with the reptile, "Tell me, why should I care for their approval, when I could claim this land myself, and make a nice scale rug out of you, for that matter?" Thubanitak questioned, regarding the snake with an uncaring eye. He wasn't particularly enthused, for a white snake hide was much too bright for his den, however the expansion of territory would be a minor convenience that Thubanitak wouldn't pass up.

(SO SORRY FORGOT TO REPLY)
The snake hissed, her tongue flicking as she eyed the other lion. "Our majesty." She seemed insulted. "I can tell you are the strongest of the pride." She scoffed. "It doesn't match anything close to hers!" Its head quickly pushed onto the Prophet's head, a devilish grin on his face. "If you do not bow under Nubless, you are prey." It chuckled lightly, slithering up a tree as a figure was apparent in the distance.

Thubanitak noticed the snake's resentful tone, but made no move to apologise for his ill comment, "Your Majesty, serpent, not mine." The male corrected, unfazed by it's sudden hostility. Though the snake belittled his pride's power, it was of no significance to him; to argue with the reptile meant that he'd have to lower himself to it's level, and he never chose to stoop. Thubanitak growled at the snake's close proximity in warning, snapping his jaws threateningly as it slunk away from him. "I shall never bow for anyone, serpent, not for as long as I live." He called after it, letting the snake fade away into the canopy above. Though already tired of the antics the territory had brought him, Thubanitak trudged forwards, waiting for the figure to address him, "Speak, stranger."

[ No worries! c: ]

His whiskers twitched, eyeing the other pride warily. "So you must be here to drop off lions!" His personality seeemed alike to V'kai, yet.. less annoying. A smile was plastered on his face. "Nubless didn't tell me of your arrival." His ears flicked, as the snake slithered behind him. [It is not a seller! A mere intruder.] The sly snake hissed, clearly lying. [He also hurt me! Bring me to Nubless! She can heal my wounds.] The snake continued to go on, as the adolesct simply shook his head, eyes softening as he looked back up at the larger.. adolescent? "You're not here to hurt us, right?"

Though he had commanded the other lion to speak, he had not ordered for such lunacy. "I have no intent to leave behind any of my pride." He spoke coldly, snorting at the lion's carefree demeanour. It reminded him of another lion he had met at the Arena, a mindless adolescent groupie that never left him a mere inch of personal space. At least this one seemed a little less aggravating, aside from the crummy first impression. How dare he be confused for some sub-par lion seller! It was a ludicrous assumption, and quite frankly, it had made Thubanitak more displeased than usual. "Perhaps that is because I am not acquainted with her." The Prophet replied idly, watching the snake creep it's way around the smaller male. He couldn't quite make out what it was saying, for it hissed and seethed a little too quietly for him to hear, but he knew it wasn't anything flattering. "If it does not stop spewing it's nonsense, the serpent shall be the first to go," Thubanitak warned, watching the snake with undisguised contempt, "Now, who are you?"

"I am Alexander. Royal Guard of Nubless and Taia Pride." He bowed.. or at least tried to. He didn't seem used to it. "I am trusted to protect the borders, along with keeping this snake in my sights." He slightly hissed, eyes narrowing towards the cowering snake, who simply rolled their eyes in response. [Enough chit-chat!] The snake scoffed, tail raising slightly. "R-Right. I should ask you, what brings you upon our lands?"

Thubanitak looked over the lion, Alexander, with a critical glance. In all honesty, such a character did not appear worthy of the title 'Royal Guard', and looked more suited to 'glorified lookout'. It seemed as if the male had never seen true battle in his life, for there were no scars adorning his colourful hide, and he had about as much grace as a newborn giraffe. Thubanitak almost pitied him, though there was no room for such emotion in his heart. "I am merely traversing with my pride, is that such a crime?" He queried, landing his harsh gaze on Alexander's face.

"Well.. somewhat. You are on the edge of our territory. Nubless doesn't like unannounced guests." His ears pinned back, slightly crouched at the Prophet's harsh glare. "She will be sure to punish us. But.. you can go around." His head lifted up, eyes slightly avoiding the others. "Do not tread on the city grounds. She does weird stuff to them."

"Make no mistake, I am not a guest, for I have not asked for hospitality." Thubanitak stated, indifferent to the laws of the territory he was currently stepping on. A few of his own pridemembers winced at the idea of the guard succumbing to an unjust punishment, looking to Alexander with a brief expression of sympathy and hesitancy, though Thubanitak did not share the same sentiment. "And what of the city grounds? I suggest you speak more of the weirdness you describe." He demanded, an inkling of curiosity blurring rational thinking.

"We live in a city, alike to humans. Except.. less human caves. We keep this land sacred as its one of the best lands around." His chest puffed slightly, as he seemed proud to be apart of such a wonderful pride. "Not only that but.. we have large nearby hunting grounds, along with a watering hole." He seemed to ramble. For being a royal guard, he seems to reveal a lot of things.

In Thubanitak's mind, this territory did not sound nearly as idyllic as he'd first anticipated. Sure, there was a lot of prey, and a vast oasis of water, however it lacked interesting inhabitants. If everyone liked the land, the ruler, the lifestyle, then what made any of the individuals living there distinguishable? "You may think it is the best, but does it retain such superiority when you're long gone, wasted away by time?" Thubanitak proposed cryptically, looking over Alexander's shoulder and into the near distance, "You mustn't be so hung up on materialistic things, for it will be insignificant in life after death." The male returned his attention to Alexander, wondering if his message meant anything to the other male. Thubanitak believed that, whilst conquering and preserving territory was a fulfilling way to pass the time, it ultimately meant nothing. "For a guard, you are rather loose lipped," He mentioned dryly, "For I know a lot about you, and yet you do not even know my name."

His ears pinned. "Well.. I.." He shifted nervously, as 3 other figures approached. Two were adorned with scars, one more then the rest, as the other had a deep cut in their neck. Alexander turned to the trio. "Oh! Why are you here?" He quickly shifted his attention from the intruder towards his pride mates. The more scarred one stepped forwards, seeming to be higher rank then the others. [I am Hikari.] She snorted, somewhat larger then the male. [State your business, name, and why it's necessary for you to go this way.] Her ears flicked, a slight glare towards Alexander as he scurried behind the others. The air around 'Hikari' was eerie and odd.

Staying completely still, the Prophet made it clear that he wasn't about to shy away from the trio that had appeared. He took up a defensive stance against the largest, Hikari, dismissing Alexander as nothing more than a mere spectator. Though she seemed more threatening than the rest, Thubanitak was not intimidated by the lioness, for he was always one to take his chances. "And why is it of your concern?" The Prophet grumbled, "Is it not enough for me to converse with the guard? I'm sure he's more than capable of getting my information." He added snidely, sizing up the lioness with the slashed throat.

She shook her short mane. "Alexander is not much of a guard. He is a terrible one at least." She yawned, turning around. She seemed bored of the lion already. "Nubless takes a liking to him, so he has to stay." Her colorful coat seemed to shine in the sun, despite her darker spot of color. "Do not make me ask again." She glared back, holding back her urge to kill the younger lion here and now.

Though tensions were high, Thubanitak understood that both he and Hikari had a mutual dislike of one another. He surmised that, if his pride had not been with him, and Alexander had not been present, they would have begun fighting by now. The Prophet sought out the other male amongst the crowd, intrigued to see if he'd just sit there and take the insult without so much as a retort back. Not one for petty quarrelling, Thubanitak assumed that this irritating encounter would end quicker with his cooperation. "There's not much to know, but I'll humour you," He relented calmly, as if he was in no danger whatsoever, "Thubanitak, first Prophet of the Konstellasie pride. I have no business other than to travel where the stars lead, and they tell me I must be here," He explained, not enthused by the ordeal.
