The safeguard only stores data for one lion at a time. If you applied markings to other lions in between using Aufeis Layers on your heir (which it seems you did per your user log), this would explain why you would've received the same marking on your heir.

Your account currently has the marking "Aufeis Rogue" stored for your lion ID #794129667664. If you use another Aufeis Layers on him (without using another marking applicator on him or any other lion), you will receive any of the other three Aufeis layers that are not Rogue.

I believe it only stores the previous marking, so you cant get same marking twice in a row, but you can get it again after 1 marking.

The safeguard only prevents you from getting the exact same marking twice in a row (eg. using two Diceros on the same lion one after the other, it's impossible to get Rhino Okapi for the first applicator use and Rhino Okapi for the second applicator use). It does not stop duplicate markings from appearing completely, it just stops them from showing up in succession.

Had another instance of a repeated marking, this time using Diceros on #794131064929
I haven't used any apps on any other lion/lioness in between, so this shouldn't have happened according to the 'storing data' ???
