Nautilus is an Applicator base that can be applied using the item Nautilus Body. To apply a base to your chosen lion using an applicator item, you have to first acquire the item, then find the item in your hoard, click it, and then select the lioness from the drop-down menu that appears below. (Be careful, it's easy to select the wrong one!) It shows as : "Use on: (LION NAME)" and then you click "Use" once you're sure you've selected the right lion.

If you're using the Base Changer from the Oasis, your choices are limited to the ones that appear in the drop down menu, or are listed in the common and uncommon boxes in the Custom Bases section of the wiki.
As you can see further down, Nautilus is under the Craftable Applicators, Event Specific section and is only craftable at a certain time of year- or, you can purchase it from other users from the trading post or the branches. ^^
