So I was wondering when did muties come out. I did look though the news posts...but there’s a lot and I didn’t look at every single one.

So can someone help me find when muties were released? Also, I want to see when dwarfs are released.

Maybe leopons too since I want to take a look at that again. Find the news posts for the muties, pon, and dwarf release.

How much did dwarfs cost back then? I heard that they cost as much as hybrids go (100+ GB) but now, why did the prices decrease?

For older players, it may be easier for you to find, since you may have experienced through the updates and such. But I will appreciate any help from you guys!!

The easiest way to find news stuff is just to go to the 'Search Boards' page and run a keyword search for what you're looking for (leopon/dwarf/etc) - selecting 'News' as the board. Then click back through to the earliest posts that mention whichever particular mutie you search for. You can then Ctrl+F within a news post, to quickly see if that's the right one. It can take a few tries since often there's news posts with hype or polls or whatever before the one where the actual mutation is introduced, but that's still the most reliable way to find stuff in general.

Unfortunately there isn't really a quicker or less fiddly way to search for news post dates as far as I know. There's a LOT of muties and they were nearly all added at different times, so this could take someone quite a lot of time and patience..!

Hello Star12,

Mutations were first introduced on April 12, 2014. There were originally a total of 18, however they were not listed to the public as it was intended that the players breed and figure out the mutations themselves. Original News Post: https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=71772050128

I believe Leopons were first introduced on October 5, 2015 and you can read up on the news post here: https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429204633

I'm not too sure when Dwarfism came into play, but there is a news post mentioning the first dwarf cub being born in February 27th, 2012 news post. https://www.lioden.com/topic.php?id=304429174926

Prices go down on mutations when a new mutation or a variant of a mutation is released because the demand for the newer mutation goes up while the demand for the older mutation or its variant goes down. I don't know what the prices for dwarfism went for when they were released, but I know leopons were easily 100-200 GB, sometimes more during its hype.

The main thing that impacted the price of dwarfs was lion scrotums - once they could be easily passed down from dwarf mothers and there was more and more focus on people grinding for breeding items each February, dwarfs were no longer rare or hard to breed. So for a while they spread like crazy and mostly everyone who wanted them got them, and the novelty wore off - which is basically why they're now so cheap.

Leopons were a lot more than 100-200GB originally. They're still more than that for cubs except potentially during February. I can't remember the highest original prices, but I know I finally decided to buy one a while after they came out after prices had already dropped a bit, and I think I paid close to 600 even then.

I just checked and the wayback machine actually has the original forum post for the first dwarf archived! So you can read it here (or the later update with more age stage pictures here)

That user is inactive for years, that dwarf is so cute... ^^
Does anyone even play on there anymore?

It isn't like a replica of the site that you can interact with properly, it's just a series of snapshots of specific pages of the internet at specific points in history basically. I think trying to use any links there to log in etc will either take you to more old pages if they happen to be archived, or will just be broken links. It just records what used to be there :)

oh, so you can see like the time periods there is on there, but you can't actually go on and log in. XD

I wonder, did the beta version get transferred to this version? It keeps on updating and is all the users still the same? Is all usernames and ID/territory same or different? (probably usernames may be different since you can change it)

Yes it's the same. I'm not sure about the very earliest alpha stage (paid), but I joined when invites were first given out and when there were still only a few dozen players - my other account ID is #76. That was still long before beta, which wasn't until the spring of 2013 - link. Certainly from when I joined in autumn 2012 nothing was deleted or moved across or anything like that. IDs weren't changed except for the 2 times they auctioned off low digit accounts years ago (#42 and #120 iirc??).

Otherwise it's basically the same, just with a new layout and stuff introduced along the way! It was mostly a case of testing and adding to the game as it went along from what I can remember. It was a very small and different game then without a whole lot of hype initially - and the online community for these kinds of sims was really different in feel all those years ago too. All totally opposite to how it will be now launching Wolvden I'm sure, with all the excitement here for that already...

haha lol ok.

And so if the user who had the first dwarf born is still in this site, then that means I can see the dwarf in his account? I searched up the ID here, it doesn't exist. Maybe that user didn't go here...

When a player apparently doesn't exist it's just because they've been inactive for too long - their king's name gets reset and then their den page and most of their account becomes invisible. It's still there, just hidden until/unless they return and log back in.

This is the first dwarf, still in their dynasty. You can still find their individual lions through the search as long as you know the lion's ID or name etc, you just can't see the player's den and stuff
