Lionesses and submales have a chance to die every rollover once they reach 15 years and will die for sure at 16. You can also choose to retire them for 10 SB starting at age 14. Kings do not die, but can be retired for any time for 10 GB (+15 GB if you've replaced your king within the last month), or for free starting at age 15, and will be forced to retire at age 16. Deaf lions can die randomly from 4 months to 4 years. If they live to be 4, they die after the next rollover. There's also a variety of lethal mutations that die as cubs.
