New Combo Base!

We think it's best to start off with this news!
It was clear that this base had a lot of love in the poll, despite losing to Frostbitten - and it was very fitting to the combo concept!

Snowflake is a Black Light Countershaded Special base and requires the following factor bases in order to be bred.

Factor 1 - Albino, Snowflake
Factor 2 - Arctic, Aufeis, Frostbitten, Glacial, Ice, Snowflake

Remember that with these types of combo bases, you must breed a base within the Factor 1 list to a base within the Factor 2 list!

The Snowflake combo base requires Wet Season - just like Cloudburst, it can only pass down onto cubs if two factors are bred together during Wet Season!

Winter Breeding Challenge!
All the albino love this month has inspired us to create a community challenge with extra personal goals to achieve!
We give you the first of its kind: the Albino Cub Challenge!

Community Goal: breed 2000 total Albino cubs!
Personal Goal: breed 3 Albino cubs!

Where can I access the information about this challenge?
The Gorilla Enclave will provide all information, as well as an extra small area on the sidebar panel on your layout!

What are the rewards?
Community Rewards: 1% chance for a Snowflake-based cub to be born to Albino x any parent for the rest of December when the 2000 Albino cub goal is hit! The Gorilla Enclave will also ask for more Albino-based cubs for their quests.
Personal Rewards: A special title ("Special Snowflake"), the "Albino Cub Challenge" achievement, and a background based on your king's karma at the time of completing the 3 Albino cub goal!

What is the time limit?
The challenge and its in-game rewards end on December 31st.
The sooner you guys complete the goal, the longer you can enjoy the in-game rewards, as the 1% chance for a Snowflake-based cub to be born to Albino x any parent pairing expires on December 31st! This means that the only way to breed the Snowflake base after the challenge ends is to breed its factor bases together during wet season.

Of course, the achievement and title you receive are permanent! The background items you receive will also last until their uses are gone, as with all other backgrounds and decors.

Will this repeat next year?
We're not sure yet. This is something we're trying out for the first time. If it returns next year, we may change up the details, requirements, or rewards. :o

What are the background rewards?
You will only receive one background for completing the personal goal, and the background you receive depends upon the karma your king has at the time that you claim your rewards!

What are the karma thresholds for receiving backgrounds?
The karma thresholds are the same for these backgrounds as they are for your eyes changing in Explore.

Evil: -400 or lower karma
Neutral: between -399 and +399 karma
Good: +400 or higher karma

Note for Future: If you guys enjoy this, we have a few concepts of future challenges in mind for many other events!

Art Fixes and Updates
* Papyrus Banks background has received an update, thanks to your poll votes! As promised, if you're unhappy with the change in art, please submit a Modbox ticket and request a refund. You will be reimbursed 200 SB per remaining use.
If you cannot see the change in the art, clear your browser's cache while viewing the image by pressing Ctrl + R orCommand ⌘ + R on most browsers!
* Teen Dwarfism stage is being worked on and almost done as we post the news - expect the files to be updated tonight.

Coding Bugs and Issues Fixed
* Canopic Jellyfish wiping an immortal lion's list of markings when new markings were added - this was only a visual bug, the markings still remained, but everything has been restored for players!
* Budongo Forest background was not being awarded in Whack-A-Snake
* Unpriced items on Branch will no longer have a button to be bought by other players. They will be priced at 999999999 for the owner, but will not be available to purchase until a proper price is set.

Poll Results - Thank you all for voting for upcoming Feline 9 design! The more spotty pattern 1 has won - as mentioned previously, this was just a concept and it will be rendered to be more detailed once we start mass-production for all stages.
Because the results are almost 50/50, and the interest in both seems very strong, we will consider using pattern 2 in event applicators or something of this nature in future.
