I've been playing for years and I've never really understood why people are so into clean lions, without any inbreeding, since it has no in-game effect. Is it an aesthetic or moral preference? Is it a desire to have diverse bloodlines and prevent male lions from breeding 5000 cubs and kind of splashing around in the gene pool? Is it an arbitrary goal that people just prefer? I don't *try* to inbreed my cubs a lot, but I accept that it'll probably happen after 3-4 generations.

Clean lions are basically a player made challenge to the game. It's supposed to challenge yourself to breed more difficultly than simply just breeding any lioness to any king.

Plus clean has spread to enough people that clean lions sell for a bit more.

Creating new bloodlines that aren't related to the 'Big 4' kings, though there's no real in game effect.

Yeah, I think that half my pride is a descendant of either Keyser Soze or HOT HOT TATER TOT.

Most of my pride is dirty, a few scattered clean lions here and there.

My kings are always clean though since clean kings seem to do nicely if they have good markings and bases, but my pride is never 100%.

Realistically you should breed however you want to breed ^^

I think my most inbred cubs have 7/8 instances, but most of it is in the great-grandparents or earlier. Do you think the age of stat monsters having such a huge impact on the gene pool is over, or is it still going on?

Well Indra and Moby still have a while to go considering Flower and Locust are preserving their lifespans. And I think Locust is a bit inactive (Moby's owner).

Once Indra and Moby go, there's still their stat children, a bunch of 5-15 or so thousand statters alive.
I think it'll probably happen for as long as the game exists.

Cubs are born everyday related to the 'Big 4' lions.
