Freezing lion causes that lion to be immortal-it will never die, unless you choose to retire it into your dynasty. You can freeze lions by using a jellyfish. There are several different types of jellyfish. A canopic jellyfish brings a lion that is already dead back, the jellyfish (it's just called jellyfish) freezes cubs and the turritopsis jellyfish will freeze a adolescent or adult lion.

Also important to note that you cannot unfreeze a lion. I believe you have an hour grace period once you first apply a jellyfish but after that the lion in question will always be frozen in time.
However there is also another way to freeze lions that doesn't include leaving them frozen forever with jellyfish. If you leave them on an account and then don't have a rollover, then they will not age or lose hunger/mood. So for example, if you'd like to keep a heir young then you could hold them on your side account until it's time to king them.

If it's okay for me to add,
keep in mind the lion won't get hungry and won't have a mood drop, but THEY CAN'T BREED.
So once you've frozen let's say a Tigon female, and you keep her frozen her heats are gone and breeding is no longer an option.

I wanted to add that bc I once almost made a trade for a frozen lioness without knowing she can't breed. I was lucky to find out before buying her. :)
