So, we have a page that notifies us of when our cooldowns (e.g. hunting, patrolling, PVP etc) are over... but why is the energy refill cooldown not on here too? I propose that an extra feature is added so we know how long until the energy boost is given.

Thoughts? please support if you agree. Seems a simple feature to add in.

EDIT: Original post was a bit misleading. I'm referring to the 15 minute cooldown, not the daily energy boost.

ADDITION: The 15-minute is already tracked by the server, so this shouldn't be a particularly taxing server change.

This suggestion has 51 supports and 4 NO supports.

The boost is once every rollover, why would we need a cooldown?

Sorry, I mean, for when we get +10/+20 energy after 15 minutes. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll make the post more clear.

Ooh, that would be usefull yes, but I imagine keeping track of every player's energy refill would take a serious toll on the server

But surely the server keeps track of the player's energy refill anyway? Since refill is 15 minutes after energy drops to 99 or less

After all, there is already the following list of cooldowns available so wouldn't have thought it would need any more server capacity than each of these?

(just copied and pasted from cooldowns page so not well laid out)

Personal Cooldowns
Feature Location Next Available
Hunting Hunting Grounds 28 minutes
Patrolling Sub Male Patrol Results ready in 25 minutes
Questing Quests 2 days
Gorilla Enclave Quest Gorilla Enclave 19 hours
Attacking Other Lions (PVP) Other Kings' Territories Now!
Age Until Retirement Retiring Your King 13 Weeks
Retirement Bypass Retiring Your King 13 Days

No support, setting up an alarm isn't that hard, plus it's better to let it go up to the 100%, which takes two hours thirty minutes. So, the moment you make a step in explore - set up a timer.
Having yet another cooldown, that will need to keep track of who made a step when and what kind of cooldown they have might strain server a lot.

The cooldowns we have now are easy, set and don't need to be recalculated every time you go to 100% and then take a step. This one would need that.

Perhaps you're right, coding is arcane sorcery to me. If that's true and it makes no difference to the servers I'm all for it

But again, most personal cooldowns don't have to update every 15 mins, they update from hour to hour - minus submale patrolling - or even day to day, and this one you propose would have to work minute by minute for every account that has energy pending to refill.

Fair enough. I don't know much about how much of a toll this would take on the server, but the cooldown is always being calculated by the server anyway so figured it would just be a matter of plugging the number from the code into the cool downs page? But happy to be corrected if wrong.

However, I disagree with your reasoning for letting it go to 100%. Not everyone wants to do that. I try to explore, when I'm playing, every 20% refill (I use roasted lambs) because I am statting my king. Hence, for me, this would be a nice feature. In which case, for me, setting an alarm every 15 minutes is a right pain

There will be no extra strain on server - because it already keeps a note of when our energy refill is supposed to happen, to make energy refill actually happen server needs to keep that record so it knows when to run the script to add that 10% energy. So it wont need to do any actual extra work - simply show the record it already has on that page.
I support, I really need that - it is actually a lot better to use your energy once it refills, because battles take full 10% energy when you fight with 100% bar, but if you fight with only 2-3% remaining, it only takes those, and next 15 minutes you start with 10% energy again, thus giving you more actual usable explore steps than when you battle in a full energy bar.

Berenos, both hunting and patrolling are monitored minute by minute on the cooldowns page anyway? So surely it's the same sort of thing?

Like you, I'm not a coder so don't know how much of a toll this would have on the server. But the server automatically calculates cooldowns every time we take a step anyway, so already has the data, so surely it's just a matter of plugging the data into the cooldowns page?

To my mind, there's no reason to need a patrolling or hunting cooldown on the cooldowns page since it's already shown when they end on the respective pages. So if the server can handle monitoring those minute by minute on the cooldowns page, surely it should also be able to monitor energy refresh cooldown?

Exactly Mad, that is my reasoning. Hence why I try to explore as often as possible. Also, I don't want to use an energy boost if my refresh would be in a few minutes time. My battles only take 7% energy so I can get more battles in :)

Seeing as it won't add any strain to the server, I can't see why not. To be honest, I don't know why this isn't already a feature to begin with.

Strong support! Another example of a use, some nights I wait to go to bed so I get energy to last-minute breed a lion or because I know the next refill is somewhat close. It'd just be so convenient to be able to check how much longer till the next boost!
