FOUR MONTHS
One of my brothers went out on an adventure.
He was gone for six hours, and when he came back, he was uncontrollably drooling, but assured us he was fine.
He wasn't.
The next morning, he was snapping at everything, and seemed to be blind.
He bit my father, and scratched a brother.
My father roared at us to run.
We obeyed.
Now we wander through the desert, lost and alone, starving.
Just me, my mother, and my last siblings, Aries, and Pariah.

SIX MONTHS
We wandered through the land, thirsting, but never able to find an unoccupied water hole. They were all surrounded by fat, slow-moving animals.
Finally, I needed water to such an extent that I gave a mewling roar.
Apparently the animals didn’t know we were there, so at the noise, they bolted, but some were shoved in by their companions, and drowned.
After taking a good long drink, we fished the biggest out, and feasted.
(There's not much, so you'll have to wait till tomorrow!)

EIGHT MONTHS
Aries decided to strike out on his own, believing that he was strong enough to survive, and that we were only holding him back.
My mother tried to stop him, to keep us together, and Pariah begged him to reconsider, but his mind was set.
He was gone the next morning, leaving only a hippo calf carcass.
We never saw him again.
(Since I was gone yesterday, I will post 10 months, too.)

TEN MONTHS
We hunted daily, but rarely caught something.
One time, I was chasing a small bug, because I was so desperate for food, when I stumbled into a king’s path.
He approached me playfully, and we chased jumping locusts together, until my mother appeared.
He left me, and began showing off.
After he’d shook out his mane, gave a manly roar, strutted his stuff, purred, and sprayed his scent, he grew annoyed that he couldn’t impress my mother. He snarled, and true to her submissive nature, she acknowledged his dominance, and with a last growl, he led her away.
We survived for a while, just me and Pariah, munching carrion, and animals we could catch, like meerkats. We traded things we found while wandering for food at the local lion hubs.
